Preparation of porridge plantain, and potato with fluted pumpkin leaf.


The combination of plantain, and potato with fluted pumpkin leaf is very tasty and yummy. Potato and plantain are nice and easily cooked, they can be cooked in different kinds of meal. So I would like you to try this combination which I have prepared today in this article.

Check the ingredients that I used and how i prepared the meal.

Ingredients.

  • 9 hands of unripe plantain
  • 10 pieces of Fresh Pepper
  • 2 Seasoning cubes(maggi & know)
  • 1 cup of dried Crayfish
  • Salt
  • vegetable( fluted pumpkin leaf )
  • 1/2 cup of Palm Oil
  • 3 small Onions
    *7 big sweet potatoes
  • fresh tomatoes

Preparation

These are the following first steps to apply.


  • washed the pumpkin leaves and ensured that the sands and dirt's are removed. Then slice it with the help of your knife.

  • The plantains were washed properly, peeled and diced with the help of knife.

  • The sweet potatoes were washed, peeled and cut into cubes.

  • Sliced the Onions and fresh tomatoes

  • pound the pepper and crayfish with the help of mortal and pestle.

These are the second steps to apply.


Step 1: light your gas cooker, place the cooking pot on it and put the peeled and diced plantain for parboiling. After parboiling it, remove from the pot to free up the cooking pot.

Step 2. Place your cooking pot on the gas cooker for heating and add the Palm oil.

Step 3: Add the sliced onion, and fresh tomatoes in to the cooking pot and allow to cook till it is wilted.

Step 4: Add in enough water which will just cover the contents of the pot.
Note: Water above the contents of the pot will make the potatoes dissolved.

Step 4: Add in the ground fresh pepper and crayfish, meggi, salt and allow to cook for 10 minutes. Taste to access the pepper, salt and seasoning content if not enough add more till you get your desired taste.

Step 5: put the parboiled plantains in the cooking pot and allow to simmer for 3 minutes.

Step 6: Then add the peeled and cube potatoes and allow to cook for 10 minutes.

Step 7: Add the chopped vegetables and turn with your spoon. Then turn off the gas cooker.

Reason for the combination.

The combination of plantain, and potato with fluted pumpkin leaf has served as a yummy food for my family and also health wise based on the nutritional and health benefits.

Sweet potatoes are starchy root vegetables that are very rich in minerals, fiber, antioxidants, and as well as vitamins. It gives much number of health and nutritional benefits to the human body. Since it provides vitamins, and vitamin A supports the immune system of the body. Also it has variety of colours and sizes, like white, Orange and purple but the one I used was white potatoes.

Unripe Plantain are not sweet unlike the sweet potato but it has similar nutritional benefits like potato. It contains more minerals and vitamins and rich source of iron. The main functions my family likes about plantain is that it fight against diabetes, it assist with weight loss, and very good in immune system.

The fluted pumpkin leaf is very important in the body as it has nutritional and health benefits. My family likes fluted pumpkin leaf for a major reason which is it's effect in blood production. Although there are other things it gives like it balances hormones, the maintenance of the body tissues and digestive system, and as well improve bone and teeth due to it's calcium.
