SteemFoods Contest 17|| My Favorite Street Food Restaurant || Tuslob Buwa at Roro Port Cordova
Hello Steemfood buddies! How have you been? I hope you are all doing fine and safe.
Anyways, for today's blog I want to share with you my experience of trying Tuslob Buwa for the first time, it is a popular street-food here in Cebu, Philippines.
After a long and tiring week, me and my colleagues decided to relax and dine-out to destress. We went to Roro Port Cordova, a food market where you can find a variety of food to choose from. For a regular customer like me, it's not just the food why I keep coming back to this place, but also because of the relaxing ambiance. This food market is located near the sea, a total breather. You can enjoy eating your food while breathing fresh air, and feeling the cold sea breeze. Many more people would come to visit the place at nighttime. Here are some pictures for you.
Meanwhile, when we were at the place, we have decided to try Tuslob Buwa since we haven't tried it yet. So we took the opportunity to experience the different taste of dipping rice into bubbles. Yes! "Tuslob Buwa" are two different Cebuano words. Tuslob simply means "to dip" and Buwa simply means "bubbles". Thus, Tuslob Buwa is to dip into bubbles. It is one of the popular foods where you can only find in the streets of Cebu. Here is the place where we decided to eat.
Tuslob Buwa is composed of the following ingredients, pig's brain and pork liver, chopped onions, oil, soy sauce, and a special pork soup.
To prepare the Tuslob Buwa, simply follow these steps.
First: Heat pan, and pour oil.
Second: Saute chopped white onions.
Third: Add pig's brain and the pork liver to the pan.
Fourth: Add the soy sauce.
Fifth: Pour the special pork soup
After mixing all the ingredients into the pan, wait for it to boil until bubbles (buwa) are form. Prepare to dip (tuslob) your hanging rice (puso) and savor the taste of tuslob buwa. Truly, it was delicious!
Hanging Rice/Puso
Each set of Tuslob Buwa only cost Php 100.00 including 10 pieces of hanging rice/puso. We ordered two sets, and an additional of 5 puso, each puso only cost Php 5.00. We also ordered Cola, and it costs us Php 17.00 each. Here is the total cost of our order.
2 Sets of Tuslob Buwa = Php 200.00
5 Additional Puso = Php 25.00
4 Cola = Php 68.00
Total = Php 293.00, that is approximately $6
Trying Tuslob Buwa for the first time is really a great experience. I got to taste this delicious food without spending too much money. After the first dip, this becomes my favorite. It has a unique taste that will surely satisfy your street-food craving. Here's to more dipping into bubbles! Thank you so much for reading my blog. Please look forward to my next food experience. Happy tummy, happy us!
