Virtual Land In Mirandus Sells For around $800,000 In ETH

That is more than property sells for in real life!

Property in an upcoming RPG has sold for the price of around $800,000. That is more than a condo would cost you in most places around the world. This is serious money and definitely too rich for my blood. The land that was bought was a citadel and right now is the only one purchased in the world of Mirandus. There are five for sale but I think the price doubles for each one so it will cost you 1.6 million if you want to buy the second one. At these prices you are looking at companies buying them to build a community for their products.

The company that bought it owns a dex and they plan on integrating a vault into the game.

Why Buy Virtual Land

Buying vitrual land as an investment is similar to why you would do it in real life. You can earn for the activity that happens on your land. Like a tax you can make money for the gameplay that is taking place on your land and the money that is being made. The idea is to have a virtual economy with real value and thus the money in the game (and the items) can be traded for other cryptocurrencies which can be traded for cash.

If the game is popular and a lot of money is flowing through it you could see a good return. But the risk is always the same for all these investments in that it depends on volume and traffic. Blockchain games only work when the volume is there and if no one is playing the game there will not be a lot of income. It is also important that only so much land is created in-game so not to over-saturate the market. Unlike in real life new planets and land can be created so if that is not kept in check the virtual land can drop in value fast.

What Is Mirandus

Mirandus is an RPG coming out by Gala Games. This one is under the radar right now but I think they can do big things in the blockchain gaming space. One of the minds behind it is Eric Schiermeyer who is the co-founder of Zygna which was very successful. They have other games coming out as well and you can play on of them which is a farmville-type game.

Mirandus will be big on land-ownership. You are safe on your land and you can get buffs for the titles you get from land ownership. The game will be a 3D MMO that you can play in your browser. There is not any details on gameplay yet but I will keep an eye out when it gets ready to launch. I'm not looking to buy in-game stuff yet until a game is up and running but I will be trying this game when it gets released.

Play-to-earn is looking to get started this year and I'll be sure to try out the different games as they get released.
