How's it going steemers?

If you're ever in Brisbane or the Gold Coast in Queensland Australia, and enjoy bushwalking and swimming at waterfalls... Then Twin Falls in Springbrook National Park is the place for you!!

Twin Falls is about an hour and forty minutes drive from Brisbane city.

Now Twin Falls has to be my favourite bush walk in Springbrook! The trail leads you through beautiful rainforest, amazing view points, caves and behind waterfalls!

I recommended arriving early as this is a very popular location, and showcases how beautiful Australia really is!

Now the Twin Falls circuit is a grade three circuit and is 4.2 km return trek. Allow two hours to complete the mission if you don't stop for a swim. But if you want to swim allow much longer cos you won't want to leave!

If you arrive after 11am I would suggest to do the circuit anti clock wise as you will be mostly in the shade from the trees above. Plus you will walk down alot of stairs which is always better then walking up stairs.

Starting the trek from the car park is some toilets, bbqs and resting areas, which lead straight to the top of the Falls.

Here you can take in a nice view from the top of the Falls. Then its time to descend down to the bottom of the Falls.

The trail is sealed as you walk down the stairs surrounding by a lush tropical rainforest. The trail leads you under some boulders then opens up to a small water fall gently falling like its raining.

The moss covered logs and rocks cover the ground along the stream from the waterfall.

Continuing the walk heading to Twin Falls you will come to a fork in the road. Left to walk along the river or right to go through the cave. Just like any good old choose your own adventure book we went for the cave. Hopefully we don't have to fight too many bat's.

Once through the cave you are about 100 metres until you arrive at Twin Falls.

The path leads you behind the falls which is real cool! You will get a little bit damp but it gives you a unique perspective of the waterfall.

This is an awesome swimming spot!! And like I said before the earlier you get there the less people.

The water was just a bit too cold for our liking. So we went on a little mission down stream to try my hand at some long exposure water photos.

By the time we came back up the place was packed! Everyone was enjoying Twin Falls!

Now they call this Twin Falls, as the name suggests, there is two seperate falls at the one spot.

The falls itself is 900 meters high and is the perfect spot to relax and take in the serenity.

We continued our adventure following the winding path through the forest leaving behind Twin Falls.

It wasn't long until we came across another waterfall with a big rock formation.

The path lead us through a little cave overhang.

Then an amazing view opened up.

Along the track I could see something rustling in the leaves on the ground. At first look I though it was a snake. But with closer inspection it was two lizards battling it out to the death.

The both had each other's arm in their mouth as the rolled around trying to rip them off.

It was pretty crazy to watch as we speculated what the fight was about.
Then we noticed another lizard close by watching the brutal death match aswell.

Maybe the other lizard is a female and these two were fighting over her.
Or maybe this was Springbrook's nature UFC and we arrived just in time for the main event.

None the less eventually one escaped with its arm barely hanging on. And we were on our way.

The next stop was Blackfellow Falls.

This is another impressive huge waterfall where the path leads you under the falls.

As we followed the path it took us back to the top of the waterfalls.

With some amazing viewing points of the waterfalls.

Then we finally made it back to the start of the trail.

Wow what an amazing part of Australia this is! I am so grateful to have these kind of places in our own back yard.
