Travelgirl’s Sandwhich Press Variety Meals
Hi Everyone,
My new sandwich press has impressed the family more and more each day. We never had one and due to the pandemic, we bought one knowing this will make nicer toasts in the morning. The kids love ham and cheese toasties so it was a wise thing to get it while we are locked up inside. Since then, I have decided to go online to see what else you can do with the sandwich press apart from making sandwiches. It was an eye-opener so I will show you what I have come up with for the usual meals and habits we have at home.
Instead of turning on the oven to make hash brown, I now use the grill. Not only I don’t need to wait for the oven to preheat, I just leave it on for 5 minutes and the hash browns are out. I love this especially for an afternoon snack or supper on a cold autumn night. The one thing I need to do is make sure there is the baking paper on top and bottom of the hash browns so there will no mess and I don’t need to clean it. Look at the nice golden brown on it. Give it a go if you have one of these at home.
The other thing is I like heating up a variety of food including leftover BBQ food. The perfect way to not wash any pots and pans and still get the nice crispy outing on the BBQ food.
The best one I’ve tried is cooking the leftover BBQ chicken from supermarkets. We take all the meat out and leave it in the fridge. Once we are ready, have the chicken on the hotplate, put some sesame oil (yum!) and some chicken salt and close the lid for a bit. Open it up every 2 minutes to give it a stir and the whole room will smell so nice with the sesame oil. It’s one of the best things made so far with leftover food. I am still pretty new to this so I will try to find more ways to use it and report back next time. If you also make food from your sandwich press, let me know below and share some ideas/recipes so I can try it out!
