Be responsible, your life is attached to others
Sometimes, we feel the teachers and parents are choking us with words like do good, be hospitable, be kind, be responsible.
We feel what is actually their problem with our lives. We believe this life is ours and we have the right to decide whatever we want to do with it.
Little did we know that everything is connected. Like eyes and nose, what affect you as an individual comes back on the family, teachers and community.
Responsibility in reality goes beyond the individual. A responsible person is doing himself good but doing the community at large more good.
An irresponsible man is the one with a questionable character. Everything he does is with a question mark.
In a community, such a person is a suspect to any illegal or immoral activities. Even when he knows nothing about the thing, because he is of questionable character, he is always the prime suspect.
When parents and teachers try to instil good character in a child, they are literally doing it for the community - themselves, family and the child's family.
While it is possible for you to argue that they are doing it for the child, you should remember whatever the child turns out to be is for the betterment or bad of the community.
It will always come down to how the child was raised, whether it was as a result of bad parenting, bad influence from the community or other external factors.
A child who was taught about the ethics of the community, good virtues that bring good rewards and helping others, especially old people but turns out to be the opposite is an enemy of the state not himself in the real sense of it.
Such a person is feared by all and even the state would have sleepless night over the individual.
It even becomes a national disgrace when such person goes out of the shores of his country to perpetuate evil in another country.
Once such person is caught, it gives the nation a bad name, gives the family a bad name and the teacher is also seen to be at fault for merely being part of those who raised the child.
So the community and family are the larger picture of the whole scenario. You are never the owner of that life because many lives are attached to it.
If you become a hoodlum, terrorist, or armed robber, many lives would be lost. Many people in the same community with you would suffer from what you turn to.
If you become a philanthropist, doctor or lawyer, many lives would be saved. You will help the needy, save those who are sick and help the oppressed by being their lawyer.
If you look at it, being responsible is for all. You save yourself, family and country from worrying and opening their eyes at night while sleeping.
So be a responsible individual and we all will benefit from it. Henceforth, know that your success is tied with others so also your failure.
Thanks for your time!!!
