THAILAND TRIP PART 2steemCreated with Sketch.

Hello Steemians! Let me share to you my overseas trip to Thailand last September 2018. It was an experience that I would never forget. I was super happy that I was able to go there, though it was difficult since I got sick towards the end of the trip.

How did we get there?
I was extremely excited but at the same time nervous as we boarded the plane to Bangkok. I was overthinking that the Thai immigration might be strict and I would be denied entry. Good thing, my sister was so organized in preparing the necessary documents and planning out our itinerary. We just had a personalized and smooth-sailing Thailand tour. 😄

Excited to see the Land of Smiles!
We had 2 plane to Bangkok. There was only 1 airline that goes directly to Bangkok but could cost more. Since we were trying to save up for the fare, we chose another airline where we have promo points saved up. For only 300 points we can already avail one flight per person. We only added a bit since our points were not enough for all the flights.

Where did we stay?
We stayed in Thailand for almost a week. We found a hostel that was affordable, close to our destination and had good reviews. We booked at a hostel for 5 nights, for only THB 2400 (~Php3800). The room was air-conditioned, with 1 double bed and 1 single bed, with TV and own CR. The place had even free WIFI in the common areas.

What did we do?
For a limited time we stayed in Bangkok, we made sure that we would visit most of the temples, see the elephants and taste their authentic Pad Thai. For the first part of my Thailand Series, I am going to share to you everything about Ancient Siam or Ancient City.

Ancient Siam is a very vast outdoor museum where replicas of Thailand's famous attraction and temples can be found. Its form also copied the actual shape of Thailand. Since the place is so huge, there is really a need to ride either a bike or a tram, which they offer rentals. They also allow private cars and bikes to go inside.

Upon entry, to the reception, we were given an audio guide and a map of the place. Honestly, we didn't pay much attention because we were too amazed with the view and rushing with time since we went there after lunch. It could be better if we spent one whole day touring around the place.

Our most favorite part is an ancient temple replica found in the highest place of Ancient Siam. It is called the Temple of Preah Vihear (Prasat Phra Wihan). The actual temple is also found on top of the Phra Wihan Hill near the Thai-Cambodian border.

Though time was only short and we were not able to visit all the temples of Thailand built at different eras, at least we were still overwhelmed with the sight of those that were able to go up close. Looking at these very realistic replicas, you would not know much difference with the actual structures.

As we were about to leave this place, our excitement to know more about Thailand was kindled. Getting the taste of their culture and architecture, hungered us to find those attractions that we haven't visited at Ancient Siam.

For the next part of our Thailand series, I will share to you more temples and attractions during our Ayutthaya tour. Just stick around and have fun traveling with me! 😉
