What is the biggest annual event in your area?

Cosmic com India

It’s for the die-hard fans of the comics and superheroes. It is a pop culture convention which is held every year in Delhi. Usually organized in the month of November to December so that there is not much heat and cosplay contestants can also feel good even in heavy costumes.

You can see a large number of people in cosplay costumes. It is a major part of this event. Contestants wear their favourite superhero costumes for the event.

How long has it been taking place? Who organizes it?

Comic Con India is a series of annual comic based conventions held in India. The first edition was held in New Delhi in 2011 and over the years has expanded to other major cities in India such as Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad and Ahmadabad. There are annual comic cons now in all these major cities.

Jatin Verma is the founder of Comic-Con India. The first ever Comic-Con was launched in 2011 in New Delhi.

Do you normally go to it each year? How many people attend? How far do they come from?

I don't go there normally each year because it kind of far from my place over 350KM it helds in the major cities and the nearest one is too far.

According to a report of 2017 A total of over 200k people joined this event and now the number is keeps increasing as soon as the time is passing and people are learning about this event.

I believe they all come fro far away because as i mentioned above they are held in five major cities only so mostly people go there to attend from far away.

Are you an active participant or just a bystander?

Unfortunately I'm only a bystander in the event.

When is it held?

Since 2011 it is held every year usually in the month of November to December.

Is it taking place this year? Or has it been cancelled because of Covid-19?

There are still so many months left for the Cosmic con of the year 2020 i believe it will happen this year because till then the nationwide lockdown will be opened and situation of pandemic will get better.

Championship for comic con

Comic Con India hosts the Indian Championship of Cosplay. Winners from each of the cosplay events held at the Comic Cons in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune directly enter into the competition as finalists, and accordingly a final winner is chosen. The winner of the Indian Championship of Cosplay then represents India at the Crown World Championships of Cosplay, Chicago Comic Con.

my memories with this event

I only went there once few years back.

These posters were super cute and were also there the last year too. The Sridevi one and the Nawazuddin Siddiqui one is a new addition. Each of them cost Rs 600.(almost 1$)They had an offer three for 1200(2$) which I thought was not a bad deal but I just wanted to buy one and didn't think one was worth Rs 600(1$)So I didn't buy any.

They had some really fun pop-ups and figurines to take cool pictures with.

No idea who these kids were lol they were already having their parents to capture their photo but the Aquaman figurines were really cool.

There were a bunch of comic stores which had no or just 10% discounts. You can get better discount online.

We decided to leave and were making a move when we spotted a DK bookstall on the way out. I was overjoyed, because DK usually has good discounts. And they did. They had 50% off on some comics. So I ended up buying three at half price and was supremely happy.

So I would say I was happy by the end of it. That's my comic book haul from comic con Delhi 2018.

The DC essential came free with my purchase. Chakra was the complimentary comic that came with the ticket.

Also Sherlock is now in Manga form!
