A pesar de que la obra de Harry Potter es sin duda de las sagas de fantasía literaria más leídas de las últimas décadas y por consiguiente con mas seguidores, la cantidad de personas que son seguidores de este universo provienen de las películas, es bastante la cantidad de personas que se han enamorado del Mundo Mágico debido a los films basados en los libros de JK Rowling, lo cual refleja la importancia de saber adaptar al cine las obras literarias.

La Edad Antigua de la magia/ The Ancient Age of Magic.

La primera evidencia de magia antigua que tenemos en el universo de Harry Potter nos las da el Prisionero de Azkaban, concretamente en el primer capítulo del libro donde se nos cuenta que en el antiguo Egipto existían poderosos hechiceros y brujos que colocaban encantamientos y maldiciones en sus tumbas para que nadie pudiera saquearlas o profanarlas. No tenemos una fecha exacta, pero si se refiere al antiguo Egipto podemos especular que son acontecimientos ocurridos mucho antes de Cristo, quizás unos 2000 o 3000 mil años antes de Cristo.

The first evidence of ancient magic that we have in the universe of Harry Potter is given to us by the Prisoner of Azkaban, specifically in the first chapter of the book where we are told that in ancient Egypt there were powerful sorcerers and wizards who placed spells and curses on their tombs so that no one could loot or desecrate them. Otro dato interesante lo tenemos del primer libro; Harry Potter y la Piedra filosofal donde se nos indica que la familia de Ollivander ya vendía y comerciaba con varitas desde hace muchísimos años, los ancestros de Ollivander estaban en el negocio de las varitas desde mediados del 300 antes de Cristo, esto es una curiosidad muy interesante e impresionante porque Gran Bretaña no era la misma que se conoce hoy en día y la ciudad de Londres aún no había nacido y no solo eso, sino que se nos habla del implemento de las varitas como un “catalizador” de magia desde tiempos antiguos.

Volviendo al asunto de las escobas; en esos mismos años de la creación de Hogwarts en Gran Bretaña nacería también un deporte con escobas que poco a poco conquistaría el corazón de la isla, el Quidditch, no se sabe exactamente en qué lugar nació o quien lo inventó, pero crecería rápidamente por toda la isla y se comenzó a jugar de manera no oficial por varios siglos como mero entretenimiento.
