Life's Lessons.
I never learnt how to be alone
but that's the way I've grown.
Not to pass boundaries and stay on my lane,
not to lose my mind but stay sane
not to claim things that ain't my own,
were all things I didn't learn
but through the world's words and reactions, I did earn them.
No one taught me to keep quiet when people ain't listening,
or keep my words when speaking to deaf ears,
no one taught me to walk away when I'm not wanted,
or to make the right decision even when the world wanted a "Yes",
no one taught me to let go when I'm hurting,
I did learn these by myself
and for my sanity to be safe.
Life is filled with lessons,
while some are taught,
some are independently learned,
while some are paid for,
some are deservedly earned.
The fact is no one skips the lesson life has
for each strategic steps taken
and if anyone skips,
assuredly, such a person will learn it a hard way.
Meanwhile, there are many things
that are just imbibed in your mind
and later you get to find out it's a necessity
and it has saved you from different atrocities.
They are things you didn't learn
but discovered when you have grown
and has helped you in life's phases.

I like this phrase because it reminds me of my grandmother, she told me, observe people, you do not have to have your own experiences to learn, learn by looking at others and if I done, I observe people and their reactions and I learn how to do it better.
(but through the world's words and reactions, I did earn them)
Smart woman. Yes, we can learn a lot by mere observation. We can save ourselves the painful experience if only we can sit down, look and observe.
