The last walk to the park / Behind The Photo contest- Edition #8

For this contest entry #behindthephoto I want to share a brief story behind these three pictures of a little dog that was very loved.

These pictures were taken in a park in Queretaro Mexico, during the last Christmas vacation. That day we took several of the family's dogs for a walk in the dog parks. They are very comfortable parks with spaces for dogs to jump and climb and the best thing is that they are separated for big dogs and small dogs.

Of all the dogs that walked that day, I want you to introduce Naomi. She is a girl of 18 years old, she has parents and a little sister, she likes very much to go out to walk to the park and play with her sister. But because of her age she has several health problems and gets tired easily, she was born with a longer than normal tongue and as she grew older her tongue became longer and longer. But that only made her more beautiful and differentiated her from the other dogs of her breed.

In this picture she had already walked a lot and she was very tired and did not want to open her eyes, it was a very sunny afternoon and the sun was bothering her eyes, she was not in the mood for a photo session either, but I managed to take some pictures of her while her human mother was holding her.

I couldn't to take many pictures of her as she didn't want to do anything so we left her alone to rest while we enjoyed the park and the other dogs playing. What I didn't know was that these three photos would be her last pictures and her last walk.

Perhaps if she had known this was her last walk, she would have enjoyed her stay in the park with her little sister more. Or maybe she was just trying to say goodbye to us.

Although her death was sudden, a few days after this walk, she gave us many happy moments and because she was a good girl we know she is in a better place and surrounded by many little angels like her.

Naomi was not my pet, she was one of my nephew's wife's doggy daughters, and she accompanied her since she was a child. But Naomi entered the hearts of all the family and will remain there forever!
