Sketch / Boceto

I start the drawing with the sketch, in this I use a pencil brush, and I modify the size of the tip to obtain fine lines, I make soft and fast strokes until I obtain a figure close to the final design I have in mind. Here I am tracing the expressions and wrinkles that Grandma has.

Empiezo el dibujo con el boceto, en este uso un pincel lápiz, y le modifico el tamaño de la punta para obtener trazos finos, realizo trazos suaves y rápidos hasta obtener una figura cercana al diseño final que tengo en mente. Acá voy trazando las expresiones y arrugas que tiene la abuela.

Outlined / Delineado

In previous installments it was emphasized to use different layers to make the delineation of the drawing, in this case we will only use one layer, but we will modify the size of the lines, we use thick lines to make the body of the tree, medium lines for the face, and the thin ones to create texture to it.

En anteriores entregas hacia mucho hincapié el usar diferentes capas para realizar el delineado del dibujo, en este caso solo usaremos una capa, pero modificaremos el tamaño de los trazos, usamos líneas gruesas para realizar el cuerpo del árbol, líneas medianas para el rostro, y las finas para crear textura al mismo.

Colour / Color

This step is relatively simple, we just use a base heat layer, using a dark green shade and applying it to the whole area of the drawing without going outside the line.

Este paso es relativamente sencillo, solo usamos una capa de calor base, usando un tono verde oscuro y aplicándolo a toda el área del dibujo sin salirnos de la línea.

Shadows / Sombras

The shading used the same technique that I've been using, we created a clipping layer and modified the mixing method and chose the multiply option, the only thing that changes is that instead of using the airbrush to apply those shadows we use a compressed carbon brush, with this we obtain that wooden texture.

El sombreado uso la misma técnica que he venido usando, creamos una capa de recorte y modificamos el método de mezcla y elegimos la opción multiplicar, lo único que cambia es que en vez de usar el pincel aerógrafo para aplicar dichas sombras usamos un pincel carbón comprimido, con esto obtenemos esa textura de madera.

Lights / Luces

For the glosses we apply the same technique that we use for the shadows, only this time the new layer we modify the method of mixture to add, and with the same carbon brush we are applying small zones of light.

Para los brillos aplicamos la misma técnica que usamos para las sombras, solo que esta vez la nueva capa modificamos el método de mezcla a añadir, y con el mismo pincel carbón vamos aplicando pequeñas zonas de luz.

Background / Fondo

Here we recreate a nocturnal forest environment, we apply a layer of dark blue as a base, then we design behind the tree some of the branches and leaves that hang from it and blur a little to give the sensation of distance.

Acá recreamos un ambiente boscoso nocturno, aplicamos una capa de color azul oscuro como base, luego diseñamos detrás del árbol algunas de las ramas y hojas que cuelgan del mismo y difuminamos un poco para dar la sensación de lejanía.

Details / Detalles

We complete our drawing by placing vegetation of the tree in the foreground, these are done in layers, the dark ones behind and the lighter ones in front, we also place some fireflies flying around the tree and we draw a faint light that is reflected on the tree.

Completamos nuestro dibujo colocando vegetación del árbol en un primer plano, estas las realizamos por capas, las oscuras por detrás y las más claras por delante, también colocamos algunas luciérnagas volando alrededor del árbol y dibujamos una luz tenue que se refleja en el mismo.
