Drawing Steemmonster's Untamed Monsters: Drawing "AZMARE HARPOONIST."

in GEMS4 years ago

Hi everybody, take my modest welcome and invites to my blog. I trust all of you are having a decent day. I am a free craftsman. I am still learning; in this process, I thought about why not draw some Splinterlands monsters? And I started to draw Splinter lands Untamed Monsters series. I trust all of you will like my drawing. Today, I arbitrarily pick another Untamed beast from the Splinter lands. This time I need to draw untamed life summoner card, "AZMARE HARPOONIST." I want to call all untamed lovers, and also all Splinterlands players to come and have fun.

AZMARE HARPOONIST

A true Harpoonist is one with his Harpoon. He never misses, he never lets go of a catch, and he will descend into the coldest, darkest depths to retrieve it. It is presumed that all Harpoonists are highly skilled at harpooning, so the quality of a Harpoonist is mostly determined by the size and complexity of his Harpoon. Harpooning is a rather shallow profession.

This is the progression of my work:

Sketching

I was excited as I wasn't drawing maybe a week one or two, I was doing other stuff though. When I was thinking of drawing some interesting untamed character, I looked at the monstermarket.io, then I finally got which I was looking for. Oh, I forget to tell you all that I consistently use the monster market because I like their service. Recently a new cool tool added to the monster market by dev @reazuliqbal, which allows you to check the price history of any card. I love the monster market as they share 60% of their revenue.
So, I start my sketching with the face because if you draw the face first, then it will be easier to draw the other section.

Playing with the Colours

Fun time! For the coloring, I used watercolor. I started with the lighter color, so I chose yellow, then another lighter color to paint the face, after that I used deep black to paint the other parts. This is very important as you know watercolor can flow, so never try to use two or three colors simultaneously, then it will be a mess. Always try to start with the light color that will be very useful for any watercolor drawing. I always try different colors although sometimes it gives a good result and occasionally total mess, as I am still learning, so it's okay for me.

Finishing touch

Now come the finale and the most crucial part. For lighting up the drawing, you have to go through the details and also have to be very careful as you are going to use the finest brush. I used a slow & steady method, where I used the color carefully, then the water, and waited for a while. Finally, I used the water spray when and let it dry. So finally it's done.
