Roadside Zoo in Bahria

All children have been stuck in houses as schools are closed because of covid. All other Funlands and zoos are also closed. Seeing that the children were feeling bore, I decided to visit a roadside zoo in Bahria town. This is a small zoo but still, animals have some space to run around and also take a sunbath. In this zoo, they have a variety of species of deer and children love to see them. In the first enclosure, we saw Blackbucks, a very elegant and friendly deer. They are mostly found in the Bahawalpur region near the Thal desert.

I also saw some big animals like Nilgai and Lamba. Specialty Lamba is new for children and they spent some time with him. Lamba is mostly found in South America but they have adopted the situation and now are enjoying Islamabad's cool weather.

Children's favorite zebra was also present in this zoo but zebras kept their distance from us. Most animals were taking sunbath and some were sleeping. They are very used to the hustle and bustle around them. On-road traffic was making some noise but the animals were not worried of the noise. Many cars stopped to see these animals and especially cars that had children in them.

Markhor is also the main highlight of this zoo. Markhor lives in northern Pakistan snow-covered areas like Hunza. Markhor is a national animal of Pakistan and they are very elegant with big horns. Ostrich was also playing with children. One unique animal I saw was the white deer and especially their eye is very beautiful. So great time spent with children and the best-maintained place to visit.
