Mi Top 5 ☆ METALLICA ☆ USA Trash Metal ☆ 1981

Sigamos manteniendo la buena música viva en nuestros oídos y nuestros corazones. En mi selección anterior estuve hablando sobre la agrupación NIRVANA, al final de este post les dejaré el link para que disfruten de ella. En esta ocasión me llena de placer presentar mi top 5 de una de las bandas más grandiosas de la escena del rock a nivel mundial. Se trata nada menos que de METALLICA. Grandes entre los grandes!

Metallica es una banda de thrash metal estadounidense que se origina en Los Ángeles, pero con base en San Francisco. Fue fundada en 1981 en Los Ángeles por Lars Ulrich (baterista) y James Hetfield (vocalista y guitarra líder), a los que se les unirían Dave Mustaine (guitarrista) y Ron McGovney (bajista). Estos dos músicos fueron después sustituidos por el guitarrista Kirk Hammett y el bajista Cliff Burton respectivamente. Actualmente el bajista es Robert Trujillo.

Con 10 álbumes de estudio, las ventas totales de Metallica superan los 120 millones,​ y se les considera parte de los cuatro grandes del thrash metal, junto con Megadeth, Slayer y Anthrax.​

Entre los premios musicales conseguidos destacan: 9 Grammys, 2 premios otorgados por la cadena musical MTV, 2 American Music Awards y 2 premios de la revista Billboard, además de pertenecer desde el año 2009 al Salón de la fama del Rock​ y poseer una estrella en el Paseo de la Fama de la revista Kerrang!.

''Mama Said'' es una canción presente en el sexto disco de Metallica, titulado Load, que fue además editado como un sencillo en 1996. La letra de la canción representa un chico que está intentando encontrar su propio camino lejos de su madre. Fue compuesta como una muestra de la mala relación de James Hetfield con su madre debido a sus creencias religiosas, dado que sus padres eran miembros de un grupo pseudo-religioso de ciencia cristiana. Conforme a la doctrina de esta secta, el uso de medicinas para la curación de enfermedades estaba prohibido. La madre de James murió de cáncer cuando él tenía 16 años, hecho que marcó un serio conflicto entre James y los dogmas religiosos practicados por su familia.
