Snow Bunting From The Arctic Circle
A male Snow Bunting near the hamlet of Igloolik in Nunavut, Canada. Snow Buntings are the northernmost passerine species in the world. During the winter months both males and females will have a reddish color to their backs. But come breeding season the males shed their red back feathers in favor of black feathers.
