dApps on Telos Blockchain Network
My Blockchain journey started on the 4th of January, 2018. It started on Steemit and later that month, I adopted Blockchain technology as a whole after a thorough DYOR (Do Your Own Research). The journey isn’t as it used to be but different projects on this technology keeps assuring us that Blockchain technology is the future and we shouldn’t lose interest whatsoever.
Recently, I got tired of concentrating my efforts on blogging/writing alone. I stepped out of the Blockchain environment to concentrate more on offline opportunities where I have built more skills. Someone asked me when I would be back and I remember mentioning next year until I came across Telos. I read extensively about the interesting project and quickly re-introduced myself by joining the Telos4Africa initiatives. One of which is this task to write about any dApp built on Telos Blockchain Network.
What is Telos?
Telos is an example of a public Blockchain Network with the aim of empowering and encouraging mass adoption by providing easy functionalities and tools for decentralized apps. Douglas Horn, the founder of Telos blockchain network, explained this further during a recent interview. The network encouraged fast transactions and high-level security, this is why they are a code fork of EOSIO specifically. This has attracted developers, businesses and C.E.Os to the platform as more dApps are built on the Telos blockchain network including African’s best; SesaCash, Zeptagram, Dmail and many more.
SesaCash
When I joined Steemit 2 years ago, my main focus was to make money. After I had my first breakthrough by gaining huge upvotes on my posts, the problem of selling my Steem and/or SBD became another issue as the open market was filled with opportunists and scammers. Even though I wasn’t scammed at any time, I wanted the best rates in the market and was lucky enough to eventually come across Yensesa.
Yensesa had the best rates with multi-functions like exchanger and wallet facilities with their own token called Yents which later became valuable to the economy of the project. Yensesa extended their services to Whaleshares and the more coins/tokens added, the wider their customer base. Other African countries became envious of Nigeria and Ghana because they wanted such platform and services. A quick run through my memory lane, I can remember @eresung mentioning it severally of their intention to move their services to a better and fast blockchain network that will align with their goals and objectives. During my short break from blockchain, I heard and read about the movement to the Telos blockchain network and was happy for the team. With the movement, they are now known as Sesacash.
Sesacash is a decentralized financial application built on the Telos blockchain network which provides faster, cheaper and more secured transactions across African borders with stations in Ghana and Nigeria. They have plans to extend their services to other African countries as soon as possible. They currently charge no top-up or exchange fees with bonus on all transactions within the app. You can top up Naira/Cedis on the app and digital currencies such as TLOS, EOS, BTC, USDC and ETH. There is also the withdraw function which is directly deposit fiat into your bank account. It is easy to sign up and create an account as you take part in one of the biggest dApps in Africa. You can also earn by taking part in the affiliate programme on the website while we await the mobile applications coming soon.
Zeptagram
Through my research on Telos, I came across another application built on the network known as Zeptagram. It started its journey on the Bitcoin network then moved to Ethereum due to transaction problems and eventually joined Telos network. The dApp aims to make the music industry tokenized and well-funded with royalties and rights in the proper hands at the right time. When a musician allows Zeptagram to manage his/her rights, they help to get the right audience and also generate more money by allowing your fans invest in your music. Intellectual property theft is not a thing on the app with the full technical function of the blockchain technology. If you want to invest in music, join Zeptagram today.
Dmail
Dmail is not like your typical email where spam messages and spoofing is allowed. Dmail runs on Telos network to provide interaction between Blockchain accounts. For most Blockchain projects, you need to input your email address before you can get a mail from the project. Sometimes, most mails fall under spam messages and you have to sort it before you get them. Dmail provides direct users text messaging format with quick verification of sender identity and no spam nor spoofing. The Telos team believe Dmail is worth it as they can provide direct messaging service to developers and engage with the wide community range on the network.
For More Information:
Thanks to the team at Telos4africa for the opportunity to know more about Telos and Blockchain through the series on the website. This write-up won't be possible if not for the team. Great work in seeking for Mass adoption.
