Soldier In War - Charcoal Drawing
Hi everyone, sharing with you today a portrait drawing I did when I was 14 years old showing a soldier crying. It was part of my GCSE art project where part of it was about war.
I used charcoals on A4 paper and it took me a few hours to complete.
I started with a pencil sketch and used progressively darker charcoal for tones while using a paintbrush to blend some of the tones.
I like the strong expression in his face and you can almost feel his pain as if it were your own.
I think this piece is quite emotive because he is a soldier. Someone that is meant to act tough but with a tear in his eye reveals a story there that you are curious to find out.
This is wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks :)
