Hola a toda la comunidad, en ocasiones se presentan pacientes, con procesos cariosos muy amplios o sometidos a endodoncias, donde el tejido remanente es poco y el diente es débil. Entonces le ofrecemos al paciente la colocacion de un perno intraradicular de metal o fibra de vidrio, que le de resistencia a la raíz y que le ayude a sostener una prótesis fija.

Then we offer the patient the placement of an intraradicular pin of metal or fiberglass, which gives resistance to the root and helps to hold a fixed prosthesis.

Para poder realizar este procedimiento, primero desobturamos el tratamiento endodóntico hasta más allá de la mitar de la longitud conducto, en caso de ser un perno de metal se toma impresión y se envía al laboratorio, si es perno de fibra de vidrio ellos viene prefabricados en ese caso se cementan de una vez.

Este tipo de prótesis se demonima corona-perno, obligatoriamente el diente debe tener endodoncia para poder diseñarlo elaborarlo y cementarlo, lo bueno de ella es que conservas la raíz del diente natural, es resistente, duradera, no afecta los dientes vecinos, es higieníca y muy estética.

Se realiza control radiográfico para observar la longitud del perno y su adatación.

Los tratamientos protésicos debe ser realizados por profesionales capacitados, mi recomendación a lo largo de mis años de experiencia es que lo barato sale caro y en ocasiones hay pérdidas irreparables.
