Hola a toda la comunidad, los dientes tienen tonos en distinta intensidad, los tonos van desde blancos, amarillos y grisáceos, el tono del diente es dado por el color de su nucleo, es decir, el color de la dentina, ya que el esmalte dental es traslúcido, el color que nosotros observamos en cada persona, es el tono de la dentina al exponerse a la luz.

El hecho de que los dientes tengan varios tonos no tiene nada que ver con su fuerza, resistencia, debilidad o fragilidad eso depende de otros factores.

Un factor importante que nos da el tono del diente es la incidencia de la luz, en los dientes anteriores es traslúcido en el borde y más oscuro cuando lo vemos hacía la encía donde se encuentra la parte mas gruesa de la dentina.

Los dientes en adultos mayores, a causa del desgaste natural por abrasión del cepillado diario suelen ser más amarillos.

• Alimentación
• Medicamentos
