Saturday sailing

Every Saturday I take an early morning walk around the lake and towards the end usually stop to watch the model-sailors prepare for their day of sailing. A surprising amount of work goes into these little boats and it's interesting to watch the old blokes (mainly old for some reason) get organised.

I chat with them a little and have come to know a couple of them quite well. I find it funny though, whilst they're all good friends there is a great rivalry amongst them; They all want to win.

Before long they get launched, lined up and the days racing begins. These boats are remote controlled and have no power of their own, just their sails, so have to be sailed exactly how one would sail a full-sized yacht which is pretty cool. I might join them someday, but I think I'd want a battle ship with fully-operational guns...That would be more fun, however I can see how relaxed these guys are so they might be onto something!

Here's an idea... Outfit the sailboat with Lego trebuchets (just like an old Roman onager - fireballs are optional ), and put Grouchy on-board as the captain/bombardier. You'll go and hide in some bushes in the marsh nearby, and your remote control handy, while Grouchy will spot targets, and reload the trebuchet. Now, start shooting people on the shoreline with Legos (the deadliest projectile known to mankind ), then cry havoc, and let slip the bricks of war.

Let slip the bricks of war That's funny...And unsurprisingly, exactly my style. Lol.

Lol, I wonder if its possible to coat Lego in kerosene, and light it on fire. That should do more damage...
