Let love reign - Eid Mubarak to all Muslim brothers and sisters

It is a special day of celebration and I join all our Muslim brothers and sisters to celebrate the special day.

I am a Christian and as a Christian, we all have to exhibit the characteristic of God called love. God is love and He wants us to love Him back as His children and to love others around us.

Matthew 22:36-40 (NIV)
36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

When God said we should love our neighbors, He does not mean only people living around us or only our family members or only people of our culture or only people of our faith. But He refers to everybody including people of other religion, background, culture, colour, and so on.

So today, I want to extend this love to my Muslim brothers and sisters as they celebrate the end of this year's Ramadan.

This year's Ramadan fasting is such a special one in that the Ramadan lasted for 30 days. A day more than the usual 29 days. Maybe because of what the world is passing through now, God wants us to pray more. I pray all your request will be answered and your fasting will not be in vein.

Let me quickly say as a world of advise to all Muslim that in order not to allow your Ramadan fasting to be in vein, you have to continue to live a holy live as you have done during the fasting period. Stay away from sin and never go back to your old way anymore.

Ramadan fasting is one of the pillars of Islam and seeing it through calls for a great celebration.

I celebrate with you all and I pray we will all witness many more Ramadan in earth.
