The world inventions: The history of the traffic lights!
The traffic light was a big invention. The idea was you can use an electric light signal system, and this light is using to regulate driving and going traffic. This traffic can be of all the vehicles that are available in different countries around the world today!
The use of traffic lights in the traffic can have positive effects, and the winding up is being streamlined. Traffic lights and signals that are used when driving are a part of the total system which informs, notifies, is leading and manages the road users. And the traffic lights are given you information in the traffic in addition to signs and road signs. You find the ways of managing the traffic to be quite similar from country to country, but the landscape differs in content and in structure!
We find the rules for using signals in the traffic in different norms, informal chatting, in the laws and in the rules. And often you must use a central department to take care of what is going on, and that is The Ministry of Transport. Traffic should be planned, implemented and control for one or some purposes in the different populations! One can use traffic light signals for public and private roads!
So what can be done in the traffic of all things that we can do together and alone? We need to have some traffic lights, and these can be with three different lights with colors, or we can just use two lights, one for driving and one for waiting. In addition, we can use arrow signals, bicycle signals, lanes and public transport fields, Most important is the three light signal in road or street intersections. With red light, you must stop. Red and yellow light together mark that green light will come soon. With green light, you can drive or cycle or walk! If there is just yellow light, there will come a red light. Such is the logic of explaining which light that will come!
The signal for public transport has three white light openings, and this light is only prevailing for traffic in fields reserved for the bus or the collective driving. A signal with two lights, shows firmly red or green lights, and with red you should wait, and with green you can drive. And it is used for booth and ferry facilities and the like where the approaching traffic has a low speed.
A signal with flashing lights shows red, white or yellow light. These signals are used on air planes, plane crossings, emergency vehicles and more.
John Peake Knight is considered as the inventor of the traffic light. Knight suggested in 1866 a signal system for regulating the horse traffic, and for reducing the number of traffic accidents in London. regnes som oppfinneren av trafikklys. The world’s first trafikk light was set up on 9. December 1868 in London nearby Westminster Brigde, in the crossing between Great George Street and Bridge Street. By menas of a gas lamp, the light signal shew a red and a green signal. In 1869, the gas lamp exploded and it wounded a police man who was operating it.
Lester Farnsworth Wire did the first invention of the red and green electric traffic light in 1912, and it was used the first time on 5. August in 1914 in Cleveland in Ohio in the USA. In Norway, the first traffic light signal was used in Oslo in 1935 or 1936. The distribution of the traffic light signals to the world began after it came in the USA. Today, many countries are using the three lights instead of the two, and the two lights was a beginning. Something had to start the process!
