When my friend organised a skydiving event for his birthday, I was really excited. It's something I'd always wanted to try!

Another hot day in Africa - here you can see the heat rising from the tarmac at the Wonderboom Airport in Pretoria.

All geared up and ready to go!

The instructor that did the tandem jump with me had done over 4000 jumps, so I was in good hands.

It takes a long time to get to altitude - a long time to think about the fact that you're about to jump out of an aeroplane.

At this point you realise that you've never been in a plane with the door open...time to jump!
