Ya tenemos 20 días de travesía por los Estados Unidos. El último día en Los Angeles fue genial; de hecho que esta fue la ciudad con más paseos y menos trabajo.

Nos llevaron a la playa y conocí todos esos lugares donde se filmaron una de mis seria favoritas de los 90´s, Baywatch.

Conocer Santa Monica me encantó, es un lugar bellísimo y con playas imponentes e inmensas. Tiene un muelle con restaurantes y un parque de atracciones. También una tienda de Bubba Gump, el nombre del barco de Forest Gump.

Esta tienda tiene infinidad de souvenirs alusivos a la película.

Futbol Americano

Es increíble la forma como nos consintieron en el viaje. Nos tenían varias sorpresas ya planificadas: Entradas a las grandes ligas de beisbol, paseo por el National Mall, entradas a Universal Studios, paseo en la playa y después entradas al futbol americano universitario.

Este último no estaba planificado. La historia es que uno de mis compañeros (Álvaro) le encanta el futbol americano y lo mencionó varias veces en el viaje. Las intérpretes lo escucharon, por supuesto, ellas eran ya parte de nosotros. Tomaron la iniciativa de llamar a los organizadores del viaje para pedirles las entradas y ellos accedieron.

Para nosotros fue ya la gota que derramó el vaso de tanta amabilidad, de tanta entrega, de tantas ganas de dar y de ser los mejores anfitriones. Siempre estaremos agradecidos con esto.

Emocionado llegamos al estadio y nos sorprendió la cantidad de personas y la vibrante fanaticada, mayormente universitarios. El estadio era del tamaño de los nuestros en Venezuela, donde jamás nos imaginaríamos verlos llenos con un partido de estudiantes.

El partido se me hizo eterno. Aunque disfruté conocer el lugar, llegó un punto en que me quería ir y no entendía por qué eso no terminaba nunca. Me parecía demasiado largo, porque cabe destacar que no se absolutamente nada de ese deporte al igual que el resto del grupo. Solo Álvaro se conocía todas las reglas e intentaba explicarnos pero igual no entendimos mucho.

Lo que más me asombró es la cantidad de jugadores que tiene un equipo. Además que entran y salen todo el tiempo y todos juntos, como si el equipo completo cambia cada cierto tiempo. Todos brincan, caminan y gritan en la banca, es muy desordenado, uno no sabe si mirar el juego o la banca donde hay más acción.

Eso es todo lo que puedo decir de ese juego porque ni recuerdo cuales eran los equipos y nos fuimos antes del final, es muy largo un juego de esos jajajja.

It's amazing the way they spoiled us on the trip. They had several surprises planned for us: Major League Baseball tickets, a walk on the National Mall, Universal Studios tickets, a walk on the beach and then college football tickets.
The latter was not planned. The story is that one of my classmates (Alvaro) loves football and mentioned it several times on the trip. The interpreters heard it, of course, they were already part of us. They took the initiative to call the trip organisers to ask for tickets and they agreed.
For us it was the last straw of so much kindness, of so much dedication, of so much desire to give and to be the best hosts. We will always be grateful for this.
We arrived at the stadium excited and were surprised by the number of people and the vibrant fans, mostly university students. The stadium was the size of ours in Venezuela, where we would never imagine seeing them filled with a student game.
The game went on forever. Although I enjoyed getting to know the place, there came a point when I wanted to leave and I didn't understand why it never ended. It seemed too long to me, because I know absolutely nothing about the sport like the rest of the group. Only Álvaro knew all the rules and tried to explain to us but we still didn't understand much.
What amazed me most was the number of players a team has. Besides, they come and go all the time and all together, as if the whole team changes from time to time. Everyone jumps, walks and shouts on the bench, it's very messy, you don't know whether to watch the game or the bench where there's more action.
That's all I can say about that game because I don't even remember which teams were there and we left before the end, it's a long game like that hahaha.
