Wave
A wave is a disturbance which travels through a medium, transfering energy from one point to another without permanent displacement of the medium.
Two Types Of Waves
MECHANICAL WAVE: It is wave that requires material medium for it's propagation
For example : water wave, sound wave.
ELECTRO-MAGNETIC WAVE: It is a wave that does not require a material medium for it's propagation. It is a wave that travels through vacum.
For example : radio waves light waves, heat radiation.

LONGITUDINAL WAVE
TRANSVERSE WAVE: In transverse wave, the direction of motion of the waves particle are at right angle to each other.
LONGITUDINAL WAVE: In longitudinal waves, the direction of motion of the wave and the direction of the motion of the wave particle are parallel to each other.
