Splinterlands is always looking for improvements whether it's the introduction of new cards or providing more user friendly options like transferring DEC from Splinterlands website itself.

There are more and more Splinterlands players are now actively participating in the challenges trivias Splinterlands team is bringing up and that shows the popularity of this game.

When we say popularity, this week's challenge also involves a popular Death Splinter monster in Twisted Jester.

Twisted Jester is a Rare Death Splinter monster which provides ranged attack ranging between 2 to 4 in the 8 levels it has and it's among some of the good cards which have balanced speed and health and the details of those can be seen in below chart taken out from the monster stats from Splinterlands website.

This monster has couple of good abilities in snipe (attacking second line magic and ranged attack monsters) and dodge (which gives an increased chance of evading melee and ranged attack)

The details of battle I thought of for this challenge involving Twisted Jester are as below.

As we can see above, this was a battle with 23 mana cap and restricted using Legendary monsters thru Lost Legendaries battle type.

For this battle, I used monsters in below order with even opponent using Death Splinter.

1. Haunted Spirit:

This being 23 mana battle, wanted a healing monster at the front and Haunted Spirit gives that with 3 melee attack.

2. Spineback Wolf:

Spineback Wolf to double up the melee attack along with Haunted Spirit and it's speed of 6 is more than handy for an early attack.

3. Haunted Spider:

First of the 3 ranged attack monsters used and this one with poison option, is definitely the one to be used.

4. Twisted Jester:

With opponent also using a magic and a ranged attack monster, inclusion of this week's theme monster proved crucial.

It's snipe ability is definitely worthy in winning this.

5. Halfling Alchemist:

Used this for a chance to reduce attack and it did it's work.

6. Creeping Ooze:

With just one mana to cover, I felt this will be best option as it can reduce the Speed of monsters.

With that lineup, I went into battle with opponent's lineup having Phantom Soldier, Elven Cutthorat, Twisted Jester, Magi Sphinx and Furious Chicken.

Battle:

Round 1:

This round, there were not much surprises as both front monsters survived this round except that Creeping Ooze removed by sneak attack of Elven Cutthroat

Round 2:

Opponent's Twister Jester was the main monster to be removed with the help of the same from my side.

Halfling Alchemist missed to attack the flying Phantom Soldier.

Round 3:

This round saw most destruction. Phantom Soldier lost out due to poison* and remaining 2 attacking monsters in Elven Cutthroat and Magi Sphinx were removed.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

Yes, each monsters contributed in this win and especially Twisted Jester.

I could have used any 2 mana monster instead of Halfling Alchemist as that missed to hit twice in 2 rounds it attacked.

Do you use the TWISTED JESTER often? Why or why not?

Yes, this being one of the only few monsters with 2 or more attack range, I use it often.

That's it my friends. Each and every monster has it's own significance and these Weekly Challenges are definitely fun.
