This blog is in response to Splinterlands Share Your Battle and Win Upvote post from @splinterlands with link provided above.

As the image says, this week's battle should involve the Reward card: Nectar Queen.

So, let's see about the card.

Nectar Queen is an Earth Splinter Common Reward card which comes with good melee attack and has the abilities like Flying, Retaliate and Poison.

Flying as we know, enables the card to evade melee and ranged attacks.

Retaliate gives the monster to attack back when any melee monsters attacks.

Poison gives that extra power of poisoning the monster and reduce it's health in every round of the battle.

This monster starts off with 4 melee attack and can have another additional melee attack from level 8 onwards.

The health of this monster ranges from 10 to 13.

Obviously I got to battle with Earth Splinter in order to use Nectar Queen and the lineup I created is as below:

Nectar Queen:

My front monster, for it's attack and health.

Minotaur Warrior:

For it's Reach ability and also the meelee attack support for Nectar Queen.

Screeching Vulture:

Used this at third position for it's Opportunity ability to take on any low mana monsters.

Javelin Thrower

Another card I use most for it's ability of Piercing although it just has ranged attack of 3.

Brownie:

I guess this what made the difference in this battle. The speed it increases to monsters will lead into some different order of attack.

Furious Chicken:

Last monster in my lineup, used this as a cover for sneak attack.

My opponent also battled with Earth splinter and his lineup included Unicorn Mustang, Furious Chicken, Mushroom Seer, Wood Nymph and Javelin Thrower.

This was a battle with 24 mana cap and battle type Fog of War meaning only ranged and magic monsters can be used unless it's front or second monster with Reach ability or some melee monster with Opportunity ability.

Round 1:

Round 1 started with Javelin Throwers from both side attacking first because of speed of 5 followed by Nectar Queen and Unicorn Mustang exchanging the attack.

Round 1 was quite competitive and only Furious Chicken of the opponent got removed.

Round 2:

Round 2 saw the end of Unicorn Mustang and even the health of Nectar Queen got reduced to 2, but it survived till the end.

Round 3:

Round 3 saw end of 2 monsters in Mushroom Seer and Wood Nymph after Javelin Thrower from opponent missed to attack the Nectar Queen because of it's Flying ability.

Opponent is just left with Javelin Thrower which couldn't attack being a ranged attack monster.

Round 4:

Javelin Thrower with health of 5 needed just 2 blows to get removed and that was the end of this battle!!!

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

Yes, the strategy worked although this was Fog of War battle type.

I guess, a healer could have made it more better for Nectar Queen, but with mana cap of 25 and my healer Wood Nymph with just 1 magic attack could disrupted this winning combination of monsters as Brownie was quite helpful here with speed increase.

Do you use the NECTAR QUEEN often? Why or why not?

Not much with Flesh Golem with lesser mana does better for me, but this weekly challenge gave me an option to try out Nectar Queen.

I think it's more suitable for Earthquake, melee mayhem or super sneak kind of battles as it's health of 11 will be handy if it can avoid getting hit from melee and ranged attacks.
