Hoy caminando por el centro de mi pueblo tuve la dicha de observar una de las maravilla de la naturaleza, en cómo se vistió el Árbol del Araguaney era una vista hermosa que no podía dejar pasar en eso le pedí prestado el teléfono a mi madre tomar unas fotos a este hermoso árbol, así poder compartirlo con ustedes, a parte le contare un poco de este árbol.

Este se encuentra ubicado en la Plaza de Piritu del Municipio Esteller del estado Portuguesa – Venezuela, este inicia sus vestidura entre los meses de Abril y Mayo invierno (al cuarto día de caer las primera lloviznas) en donde hace que sus flores resplandezca con ese color amarillo intenso, es por ello al ver hoy este árbol con esta hermosa vestidura ha causado asombro y gran atención que luego de una pequeña llovizna que tuvimos unos días atrás la naturaleza nos regaló esta hermosa vista muchos meses antes del que siempre estamos acostumbrado a ver, este árbol mayormente se encuentra con sus hojas verdes en casi todo el año, este maravilloso árbol que todos los venezolanos nos sentimos orgulloso de ser nuestro Árbol Nacional, que fue proclamado el 29 de mayo de 1948.

El "Aravanei” o Araguaney es un árbol que su origen vienes de nuestros ancestros indígenas que viene de los caribes, a su vez tiene el nombre de Chrisantha que viene del vocablo griego que significa “Voz de Oro”, a parte es conocido por flor amarillo, guayacán, zapito, zapatillo, roble amarillo, tajibo y cañahuate, este proviene de las grandes selvas tropofilas de nuestros llanos, podemos observarlo en lo amplio de nuestras tierras Venezolanas.

The "Aravanei" or Araguaney is a tree whose origin comes from our indigenous ancestors that comes from the Caribs, in turn has the name of Chrisantha that comes from the Greek word meaning "Golden Voice", part is known by flower yellow, guayacán, zapito, zapatillo, yellow oak, tajibo and cañahuate, this one comes from the great tropical forests of our plains, we can observe it in the wide of our Venezuelan lands.

Este se reproduce por semilla y puede llegar a crecer desde los 6 a 35 metros de altura, pero tiene un crecimiento lento, su tronco se estima que puede llegar a medir en diámetro 60 centímetros, puede darse en suelos secos y duros hasta llegar a encontrarse hasta altura de 1.200 metros sobre nivel del mar, este puede crecer derecho o torcido, sus vestimenta en la mayoría es verde, cuando florece nos brinda una vista de flores amarilla que tienen forma de campana, sus frutos son de formas cilíndricas al madurarse esta se abre en donde ofrece las semillas de formas aplanada y de color gris, este cuando deja caer la flamante flores hace que todo su alrededor parezca una gran alfombra de oro.

Del follaje emerge tu esbelto ramaje,
que en verdor umbrío, asaz desparramas;
con tus férreos brazos, de augusto linaje,
paternal cobijas los campos que amas.

Con gracia infinita, tu cuerpo deshojas
y desnudo quedas, perdido tu brillo;
confiado en que pronto Natura te escoja,
el más refulgente atuendo amarillo.

Y con hondo orgullo, exhibes tus galas,
que Dios puso en ti, con sabio decoro;
y tu alma de indio un suspiro exhala,
al ver en tu pie, regia alfombra de oro.
