Ayer en un resumen de noticias mencioné sobre la extinción de insectos en el planeta debido a las acciones del hombre el cual afecta gravemente al ecosistema. Es difícil para las persones comunes detectar la desaparición de insectos, aún así no podemos pasar desapercibidos frente a las continuas denuncias de los expertos.

Pues sí, las mariposas son una de las tantas especies extinguiéndose en el planeta. Estos insectos no solo embellecen el ecosistema sino también son grandes polinizadores. Frente a esta situación, nos encontramos frente a la mayor debacle natural el cual podrá agravarse si seguimos acabando con insectos utilizando pesticidas sin permitirles seguir su ciclo natural durante la cadena alimenticia. Los fenómenos climáticos y el aumento de la temperatura le han permitido demostrar a los científicos que los insectos experimentan más hambre, esto obviamente acelera la devastación de plantas. A mayor intensidad de calor, mayor cantidad de alimentos consumirán los insectos.

Yes, butterflies are one of many species that are becoming extinct on the planet. These insects not only beautify the ecosystem but are also great pollinators. In this situation, we are facing the greatest natural disaster which could be aggravated if we continue to kill insects by using pesticides without allowing them to follow their natural cycle through the food chain. The climatic phenomena and the increase in temperature have allowed scientists to demonstrate that insects are experiencing more hunger, which obviously accelerates the devastation of plants. The more intense the heat, the more food the insects will consume.

Desde el año 2017, en Venezuela hemos tenido escases de naranjas. Ni los mercados, ni los vendedores de frutas exhibieron en sus anaqueles la deliciosa fruta cítrica. La situación se debió a una plaga letal que acabó con miles de hectáreas en el país. Las plantaciones fueron atacadas por la enfermedad destructiva para los cítricos llamada dragón amarillo.
