Making Fresh Coconut Milk with a Traditional Coconut Grater

Until now I still use a traditional coconut grater, because in my opinion it's easier.

I and the people in the village still have a large supply of coconuts from our garden. Or if we buy coconuts at a market, we choose to grate the coconut ourselves to save our money.

Coconut grater is indeed quite helpful to me. Moreover, I often make dishes that use coconut milk.

By using traditional coconut grater, we don't need to remove the coconut meat from the coconut shell, and that saves time.

Coconut grater coconut is shaped like a seat so that it makes it easier for users to grate the coconut.

But users must be careful because the edges of the tool are jagged, and sharp and can hurt the user's hand if not careful.

This is the result of grated coconut using a traditional coconut grater.

To make coconut milk, we can mix 200 grams of grated coconut with 500 ml-800 ml of water depending on the level of thickness that we want.

Have you ever used traditional coconut grater?
