Hello everyone, I am so glad to hear participating in this week's acceleration contest with the theme “I wasn't informed”.

This contest remains me of the mistakes I made back then, even though we are just humans and no one is above making mistakes but what matters is how we try to correct ourselves and also learn from them in other not to indulge in them again.

What do you understand by being "informed" "uninformed "partially informed", misinformed?

Informed: This simply means educating others or passing on important information to people about something they don't know. Or it can be seen as sharing or imparting knowledge to others.

Uninformed: Uninformed is when one is not aware or has no knowledge about the information at all, and this happens when the person is not informed about the happenings.

Partially informed: This happens when you were told about certain information but the person who educated you on it did not give you the full knowledge about it. That means you were informed but not in details, and it was not too clear.

Misinformed: This happens when one is given the wrong information about a particular thing. Or it occurs when one is misled by another with an incorrect information.

Which of the category above was your experience?

During my university days, we were supposed to go to the school farm for our Gst practical but on that same day, there was a match between our department and the sociology department. The practical was to be held in the morning same time as the practical.

Usually, we do go to the class for the lecture before heading to the field for the practical. So on that day, we went to the class and the lecture did not come so some of the students were saying that the lectures will not hold likewise the practical, because of the match but we were still in the class waiting till the time elapsed.

When it was time for the practical the class representative now informed us that the lecturer will not come today so there won't be a practical. While everyone was happy including myself because I have to go and do other things in the hostels.

I left the class immediately and my phone was not on. Unknowingly to me, the lecturer came in when I left and he took them to the field for the practical. Some of us that left missed the practical class and the marks awarded for that day. Later in the evening, I heard some girls talking about the practical so I work up to them and asked.

And they said, the lecturer did not inform the class representative that the practical will not hold, he only told him that the lectures will not hold. Humm😌, I was so angry with myself because I could have waited for at least 20min which I did not. We later went to the lecturer to complain but he said there is nothing he can do about it and that single practical made us have carryover.

I felt very bad because the class representative misinformed us about the practical. It was a bad experience repeating the whole practical the next season, the expenses were much.

How did you handle it and what were the lessons learned.?

Hmm, there was nothing to be handled but the only thing I did was never to allow myself to be misled by another, I always take my time to do things at the right time. And from the incident that happens, I learned not to be in a hurry even if the class representative informed us that our lecture will not hold, I could have waited for a few more minutes before leaving the class.

And in life, general patients is very important because had it been I was patient to wait for additional minutes I'm very sure I won't miss the practical.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Information is indeed powerful something it may be good and so bad but it's dependent on how we accept it and make use of the knowledge shared with us over certain things.

I will love to invite @ishayachris @mjerry and @bensam2040 to come and share their experiences with us.

Thank you....

Nearly every students have faced misinformation or not being informed. I can vividly remember when I got admitted into an institution. I do miss classes because our fresher director of Information do receive his information in the morning of which he'll post online. Only those that are online that morning would see the time and venue for the class. Those who aren't would just be making confused calls as we knew no venue there. Thanks for sharing. I know you must have been pained. It's part of our life as students. Please Share your post on Twitter and drop the link here. Also vote on other people's post so as to increase your voting CSI
