INTRODUCTION

Hello my dear country people, I'm here once again, hope you are all doing well. Today I'm taking part in this contest organized by @simonnwigwe where we are ask to write a story on the topic, "It is better to be late than to be late". Humm! 🤔 when I saw this topic, the first thing that came to my mind was the story of my beloved uncle Mr. Victor.

We can decide for life because, life on it own is embadded with what ever we need. We should be able to know what we want and work toward what we really want to achieve in life.

In most cases, life is easy when we have money. Having money is one thing but making the money is another. It is pressing to see we are unable to meet our basic need in life, many go to extra mile to fasten their success because it seems to them there little effort is not enough.

Pressure comes when we see our mate succeeding above our level, this lead to competition and grow frustration in our mindset the depression of the pressure will influence us to be involved in a negative dealing to succeed. Below, I will be sharing a short story of my uncle who wanted to fasten his success story but he got different result from his expectation. The story thought me alot about life.

A SHORT STORY ABOUT MY UNCLE

Uncle Victor is my mum's younger brother who wanted to make it in life at all costs. He graduated from the University of Jos where he obtained his B.sc in Micro Biology. After his NYSC, he came back home and there was no work to do, he tried doing a business of selling clothes but he was not just contempted with what he was doing at the moment, he needed money as quick as possible.

One day my mum called him and told him to join her in farming busssiness, since he was not comfortable with the clothe Business. But he said he can't go to the farm even the clothes he is selling now is not good for him at all. But she told him to calm down and manage what he has for now because life is a gradual process. But he never listens to what he was told by his elder sister(my mum).

Within the period, my uncle submitted several applications letter for job in different companies, also he attended several interviews but all the companies response was that, "we will get back to you in due time, please kindly exercise patience as we process your application to the higher manager because you have a good credential's and result". My uncle lost hope in all the little struggle and decide to look for way forward.

One day he came to the house and told my mum he will be traveling and when my mum asked him where he is traveling to, he said he will be traveling to Kano State to meet one of his friend who told him there is a job opportunity for them. During that period, my grandmother was not comfortable with him traveling to Kano State, but my uncle was so stubborn and decided to emback on the journey.

Two Months later he came back home loaded with a lot of money, everyone was surprised how he got the money, but the only thing he told us was that, he had a good boss who supported him after working with him for a month. he also said that, the company gave him a house and a private car. Every body was so happy for him. Instantly he got married to mummy Jen.

When he went back to Kano to continue with his work, he left his wife in jalingo, telling her that when next he come back she will follow him to Kano. After six months we did not hear from him, his line was not going through, everybody was worried and his wife was five months pregnant.

One of the company my uncle apply job with them were seriously looking for him because they secure a position for him to fit inline with his qualification and experience,The job comes with an apartment and a Car with #500,000 Monthly salary apart from other allowances. The company dropped the appointment letter with my mum with a condition that if he did not meet up to resume office within 60days from that day, the appointment will be terminated.

On the 20th of July 2006, my Mum received a call from a strange number, telling her that her brother is seriously sick. She was so worried so she traveled down to Kano with my Aunty halima. They brought him back home already one of his legs was rotten, infact he was not able to talk.

The family was there for him, they took him to the hospital but they said nothing was wrong with him. They tried traditional medicine but his condition was getting worsts by the day. So one day our pastor came to the house and prayed for him, he asked us to fast for one week which we did. On the last day of the prayer and fasting that was the day my uncle's mouth opened and he was able to talk.

That day he told us that, his friend was a culties and they initiated him to join their group. After some months he was asked to sacrifice his wife and the unborn child, but he said he can't do it. That was the reason why they infected him with such illness and all the money he had, he Used it for treatment till he was left with nothing. He pleaded for Mercy and the pastor prayed for him.

My mum wept deeply and brought out the Appointment letter and showed it to him. The conditional term 60days grace period elapsed a day before he was brought back, it was a very sad moment. On my uncle recovery, it was confirmed that he will be unable to walk again and one part of his body is paralyzed and embadded with leprosy for life time. Hmmm! What a sad story.

MORAL LESSON

In light to the above story of Mr. Victor, I realize that life is not all about what we so much desire but using what we have at a point and work hard toward better tomorrow. My uncle was not patient enough to wait for the right time, and when his turn came it was already late.

We should always learn to appreciate who we are, what we are and how we are because, the more we wish to be like others, that is how others wish to be like us. Life is stage by stage. So don't allow yourself to be pushed by what others have by doing what is bad in archiving what you wish in life. It is better to be late than to be late.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, my uncle turn came but he was not on point to reap the good fruit of his hard work. I see it as he was there but not there yet, he have it but not in full. It is better to wait than to wait again, when we miss the first step it will require us to start all over again, sometimes we may not even have the opportunity to even make right or lesser than our initial expectations. It is better to be late than to be late.

I invite @mjerry @ahbaz @afunkycares and @olabillions to come and participate in this contest.

What a sad story. Assuming he was patient enough to wait for the appointed time, he could have achieved his dreams. Indeed the patient dog eats the fattest bone.

You have written well dear. Wish you success

My dear, if only he was patient enough, he could have actually archived his dreams, but it's well. I believe we all will learn from his mistake. Thank you for your kind comment I really appreciate.

So inspiring and touching story. I love this statement "the more we wish to be like others, that is how others wish to be like us, Life is stage by stage". The earlier we understand it the better we get it right.
