Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 35: Dealing with Emotions
Greetings friends and welcome to my blog, where I have shared my participation in this contest organized by the @steem4nigeria
🔹What is your understanding of emotions?
In my understanding of emotion, it can be seen as a feeling or psychological and subjective experience which are a part of the human experience. Examples of some emotions include
Happiness-: this is a positive emotion that is usually referred to as the sense of joy, contentment, satisfaction, etc.
Sadness-: this on the other hand is a negative emotion or feeling of grief, loss, disappointment, etc.
Anger-: this is also a strong negative emotion or feeling of frustration. Anger is normal in humans but if it is not well managed it can have some negative consequences, for example, difficulty maintaining a healthy relationship.
Fear-: this is a type of emotion or feeling of dread and anxiety, excessive fear can lead to anxiety disorders, for example, phobias, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
🔹Have you ever had emotions that made you lose yourself? tell us about it.
Yes, I have had emotions that made me lose myself, and that was when I was in secondary school it was a terrible experience but all that matters now is that I am glad that I got to learn a valuable lesson.
When I was still in secondary school I was living with my aunty, and so sometimes I would miss my parents which would make me sit quietly in class and I would not want to speak with anyone, so one day my friend was playing with me
But I did not want to play I told her to leave me but she refused she kept on forcing me to play but I said no and she held my hand and refused to leave my hands so I tried to remove her hands forcefully from mine and my nails scratched her hand by mistake,
She told me that I scratched her hand but I thought she was joking later I saw blood coming out from the scratched hand😳 and that got me really scared and worried this incident made me weak and that was when I became calm and realized what I have done, from that day I have learned to always manage my anger
🔹Explain 5 ways to deal with emotions.
Dealing with emotions is not always easy, especially for someone who is addicted to an emotion like anger, but you do not have to worry because all you need to do in other to cope with emotions includes.
Emotions are normal and valid so do not try to deny or suppress your feelings instead Recognize and accept your emotions
Do not try to keep your emotions hidden, be open and always express your feelings, either by being around people with a positive mindset.
Always try to find out the reason why you are feeling that particular emotion or feeling and also the root cause of it.
Know how to relax your body when you are going through feelings or emotions like stress or when you are anxious.
Learn how to take a deep breath to calm yourself down in terms of anger emotions.
🔹Do you think emotions could hinder someone from achieving their dreams?
Sometimes or in some cases, emotions can definitely hinder someone from achieving their dreams for example anger and fear or feeling anxious can make a person lose focus on what he or she is doing, and that can hinder someone from achieving his or her goals.
With all this one still has to remember that emotions are not always negative for example positive emotions like happiness and Optimism can be a great source of motivation and inspiration to achieve one's dreams.

You really wrote well dear, thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas with us, emotions is what we feels everyday. Emotions can make you act without reasoning at all. You may do something before you will begin to think of the act you have carried out and sometimes it may be late and that is why I believe that our emotions can hinder our dreams,let learn how to control our emotions especially when we get angry.

Wow, at least you learnt the importance of staying calm, and I would say that if you are fearful at the sight of blood you should probably avoid any career part that has to do with medicine😊.

Absolutely. Emotions can definitely get in the way of achieving our dreams. When we feel angry, fearful, or anxious, it's easy to lose focus on what we're doing. These negative emotions can distract us and hinder our progress towards our goals. However, it's important to remember that emotions aren't always negative. Positive emotions like happiness and optimism can actually be a powerful source of motivation and inspiration. When we feel happy and optimistic, it gives us the drive to go after our dreams with enthusiasm. So, while emotions can sometimes hold us back, they can also be a catalyst for success. It's all about finding a balance and learning how to harness our emotions in a positive way to fuel our journey towards achieving our dreams. Wishing you all the best.

We have positive and negative emotions, positive can help you to fulfill our dream or to be the person we should be and at the same time negative emotions can hinder someone to also fulfill a dream, that is why it's necessary for us to understand how we can manage and deal with our emotions.
