Hello fellow steemians it is a pleasure to post in this community once again, today i want to talk about a topic that is so important to humans, and the name of the topic is fishery, so lets start.
Fishery
Before we start lets describe a fish. A fish is an animal that breaths under water with the help of their gils, and their fins allow them to swim in water. Now lets find out what fishery is. Fishery is an area in agriculture which specializes in the rearing or upbringing of fish or any other aquatic farm animals. When rearing fish we create ponds in order to keep them alive in water until it mature enough for selling or it is mature for eating.
Fishes are animals with back bones (Veterbrates), and they live mainly in water and they are all alike in the following ways:
- All fishes have fins and breths with it
- All fishes skin are covered with scales
- All fishes are cold bloded animals
Classification of fish
It is normal to classify fish into various groupsbthat share the same characteristics in the way they are made physically and in the surrounding of their place of habitat (that is the kind of water they live in).
They biological classification of classes are:
Boney fishes: These fishes are a type which posses a bonny skeleton which is generally referred to as hard bone.
Cartilagenous fishes: These are fishes that have soft bone composed of cartilage.
Some examples are: shark, salmon,dolphin etc
Identification of fishes based on their habitat are:
Fresh water: Fresh water is any water that has no salt taste like; stream,spring,rivers, and lakes. Fishes living in this kind of water are called fresh water fishes, some of them are pike, tillapia,mudfish,porch etc
Salt water fishes: These are fishes that live ony in the salt water of seas and oc3ans some examples are salmon,shark,catfish. etc
Lets see some of the things that fishes are used to make
- They provide food for man
- They provide livestock
- Provision of oil
- leisure
Lets see some ways in which fish are preserved
- Smoking
- Drying
3)Refrigerating
4)salting
5)Canning
