Unquenchable Desires: The Allure of Greed

Hello dear Nigerians and others, it is once again a pleasure to post in this community once again. Today I will like to participate in the contest hosted by @sahmie in this wonderful Steem4Nigeria community, and the contest is about greed, it is quite an interesting contest so sit back and enjoy reading my post.

Knowing what Greed is all about, what do you think is the difference between ambition and greed?

Well many people are confused between greed and ambition, some people may even think that they mean the same thing, but the truth is this, ambition is also an expectation hoped to achieve, it is just like a task or goal which one wants to achieve, an ambition can be a bad or good one. For instance, a person might choose to become an arm robber while another person can choose to be a medical doctor, from these instances we can see the good and the bad ambition, WHILE greed as we all know is the act of not being contented with what one has, and that person is always eager to get more.

Can greed ever be a positive force, or is it always destructive?

Greed can never have a positive force, and it is always destructive. If any one close to you is greedy I suggest you keep the person at arms length, because greed can make someone to take another person's life. A greedy person is always clearing out anything in his or her way to achieve what he or she wants to achieve. For example money, money is something many people work hard for, and some are happy with the little gain they made, but someone may be rich and still want money, even though it involves killing a person, they do it. And that is the destruction greed causes.

How does greed affect relationships and trust among people?

As I mentioned earlier greed can affect or terminate friendship or trust in many ways. For instance, if one is greedy for something he spends all his time waiting to get it, thereby shunning friendly get-together which may often end in quarrel and breakup. A friend to a greedy person may not want to associate with the person that is greedy seeing what length he or she can get to, to achieve want he or she wants.

Do you think greed is a natural human instinct, or is it something that is learned?

I feel that greed is a natural instinct, be because you can't learn greed instead you feel greed. Greed is a feeling that urges someone not to be okay with what he or she has. So we can say that greed is an abstract noun.

Have you ever witnessed or experienced the negative effects of greed in your own life?.

Actually I have never experienced the negative effect of greed, because I have loving parents who guide me and counsel me, when they see that greediness wants to have its root in my heart.
