THE DANGERS OF COMPROMISE.

Integrity may seem meaningless to some, but it pays off in the end. Believe me, people will notice you for your integrity, but it's only worth it if you don't give up along the way. I read a very sad story but it tells the story of a man who lost everything he had done due to a last minute compromise. I felt the need to share the summary of the story, at least someone would learn something out of it.

There was a boy who grew up strict and noble and learned the value of integrity early in his life. His father was a paramilitary and thus knew the value of maintaining integrity. He grew up with people of integrity and this quality naturally came out on the outside. At the end of high school, he was fortunate enough to be accepted into one of the best technical companies in the country, working in the construction and civil sectors. The company trains you while you work with them.

During his studies, he received help from friends of his parents who liked his character. When he graduated from college, one of his father's friends helped him find a job at a large engineering firm and later moved to work at the National Center for Urban Development (NCUD). During his three-year tenure, he was appointed as one of the superintendents because his sincerity and integrity earned him widespread approval.

However, one thing happened during his time at NCUD. Note that many of the moderators involved with him only collected the numbers to cut the budget. Others even go so far as to use substandard building materials and pocket the rest of the money at the expense of the durability of the structure. They kept persuading him to join them. After more than two years on the job, he couldn't stand their pressure.

An unnamed client commissioned another building to build before the end of the 3-year loan period. He decided to use substandard materials (knowing full well that the building wouldn't last long) but had to cut enough before he left the office. After the construction was completed, when he gave it to his boss, the latter returned it to him (the person who built it) and told him that they valued his services and that he should take the building as his residence, the guest house. He was deeply saddened that he had violated his standards and that the building would not last long.

Just imagine that, if he kept his standards and integrity, this might have been the best moment of his career, but it turns out to be one of his regrets. The moral of this story is that if you don't lose your integrity, it will pay off. There may be a delay in receiving your good things, but you will definitely get them at the end. I hope we learn a thing or two from this story.

Thank You.
