But I'd like to add a point here:

We live in a society where gender discrimination and other forms of injustice are encouraged.

I don't think there is anyone who "encourages" gender discrimination and injustice. What we have is a society that's either ignorant of its ability or individuals who are yet to find strength in themselves.

I say ignorant because some individuals live the lives their parents and ancestors lived without pausing to wonder if they could reform it into something better.

Some victims are scared to speak up or challenge the practices and mindsets that hurt them because they are yet to find strength in themselves.

Society doesn't "encourage" these things per day. We just need more people who are willing to move beyond what was presented to them as perfect.

Once these internal factors are conquered, other external, systemic factors like institutional policies and cultural practices will conform as well.
