INTRODUCTION

Good evening to all steemians in this great community and to all the steemians reading my post,I'm so glad to participate in this amazing topic(My country and her mineral resources)

Give us a brief introduction about your country.

Nigeria is a vibrant country which is located in the Western part of Africa . Nigeria got her independence in 1960 which later became a republic in 1963. It is a very large nation divided into 36 states, that cover a large area of landscapes, ranging from the northern part of the country to southern part of the country and from the western part to the eastern.the northern part of the country mainly consist of the hausa,Fulani, tiv, and idoma etc ,the southern part mainly consist of the Ibibio, efik etc the eastern mainly consist of the Igbo while the western past mainly consist of the Yoruba and the Edo tribe

Nigeria is known for its cultural heritage having over 250+ ethnic groups, with over 500+ Languages spoken throughout. It is also known to be a nation with a tropical climate, meaning we get to experience warm temperatures throughout the year, even though the heat can be harsh sometimes and we also experience some level of cold conditions during the Harmattan and the rainy season while heat during the summer season.

What is/are the mineral resources your country is blessed with

I must say that Nigeria has alot of minerals resources but it certain that Nigeria is best known in africa for her largest oil production, and most of Nigeria incomes is from the petroleum

Below are the mineral resources that Nigeria is blessed with

  • Crude oil
  • Iron ore
  • Coal
  • Gold
  • Timbers
  • Limestone
  • Lead
  • Salt
  • Zinc
  • Rubber etc.

Has these mineral resources been fully harnessed

I must say that some minerals resources are not useful in Nigeria cause I can't be seeing why we have a whole lot of crude oil in the country and Nigeria government can't make provisions for refineries for the fully production of the crude oil into petrol, kerosene, diesel etc
This really make the high rate of petrol in Nigeria into something else cause they take the crude oil to refine in some other country which they later buy it from them at an higher price and import it back to the country and sell it very expensive.

They only natural resources that is a little bit beneficial in Nigeria is rubber cos the refining of the rubber is home base .

Has the proceeds from these resources been used properly by your government for the welfare of her citizens...support your answer (Yes/No) with good points.

In my own point of view I think that the resources that Nigeria have are not properly use on their citizens cause I can't see why Nigeria have a lot of crude oil and we are suffering from high rate of fuel subsidy .
Unlike other more minerals resources we have here in Nigeria citizens are still suffering from unemployment, hardship

Citizens are lamenting day by day but no solution from the government, I really thing Nigeria government should really do something about it,cause with the numerous minerals resources we have here in Nigeria ,citizens are not supposed to be suffering, things are just so expensive cause of the high rate of fuel subsidy.

Conclusion

Nigeria is a blessed country with many minerals resources but the only problem we have is how the government to make provisions for crude oil refineries so that we won't be taking our oil to refine outside the country and this will really lesser the price of fuel in the country

You've made you very clear points. However you're lacking in some areas. You do not belong to a club, moreso your CSI is low. Do well to increase.

You raised the right question that in your country there is crude oil, very much. then why is petrol so expensive? Why is gas so expensive? All these questions come to our mind because God has blessed the land of all country with lots of mineral resources, yet the population there is very troubled. why is it like this
