Steemit Engagement Challenge 2 | Steem4Nigeria Contest | Welcome Mr. President: We need a Manifesto from you, What should we Expect?

Salutation to all the administrators and moderators of Steem4Nigeria. Congratulations once again for being selected as one of the communities for the Steemit Engagement Challenge Season two.

I join the multitude of the steemians who have gone before me to make entries in this community for the Engagement challenge for this week.

INTRODUCTION

In 2013, I assumed the position of course representative in my department. I did this voluntarily after a proposition to be the course representative and the whole class accepted that I lead them including my predecessor. That was because my predecessor failed in her duties to carry the class along. I myself proposed to be the course representative because things went wrong for the period of time She led the department. My emergence as the course representative brought a positive change in the affairs of the class and all my colleagues loved me including the lecturers in the department.

Today my country is in dying need of a leader who would step up to the seat of President and turn the economy of the country around positively.

Actually, I do not like politics and I do not want to involve myself. This is the same thing many good people of my country say. People who could have taken us to the land of milk and honour sit and watch and things go wrong daily. I cannot bear it anymore. I am therefore offering myself to my country Nigeria to help her change her status and bring out the best in her.

Analysis of the Current Situation of Nigeria

Nigeria is in deep mess today. Like I mentioned earlier, the economic situation of the country is at it's worst since independence. We are ranked the 2nd poorest country in the world. As days pass, it gets bad the more. This has resulted in unemployment of graduates. People who have graduated from the University for 15 years are still out there jobless or taking a peanut home from a private job.

The unemployment rate of the country have made bandits, terrorists, kidnappers, internet fraudsters and militants out of the Nigerian population. The country is not safe because of all these groups of people who are only looking for a means of survival.

The problem we face as a country are all a product of the bad economic situation of the country. We have the resources to turn things around, we have the natural and human resources. But there is no good management of these resources. We need someone who will manage the numerous resources we are blessed with. I am voluntarily giving myself to be sent. Send me, I will go and turn things around for the good of everyone.

Why I think I will be Suitable for the Position of a President

People who know me well know that I a leader in making. I didn't just acquire my skills of leadership but I grew. One thing I have decided to do as a person is to improve on myself daily and God has really been merciful towards me.

My suitability for the position of a leader is borne out of the good virtues I have built over the years as I lived.

First and foremost, I am a child of God. I love God and I serve him with all diligence. I have been with Jesus and I have His life of leadership. I am one with the HolySpirit and I follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in my dealings. The spirit will lead me right and I the people.

Educationally, I am a certified health educator who have gone through the school from primary to tertiary institutions. I am learned enough for this position. I am therefore, mentally, socially, physically and emotional sound to be the president of this country.

As it concerns morality, I am a compassionate person. I feel the pains and hurting of my fellow individuals, so I cannot bear to see anyone suffer. Based on this, I shall give my best as a President. I always stand for what is right and good. I am an honest person always standing for the truth. I know the right things to do and I do them without looking at anyone's face.

I didn't go to school of economics or any business school but believe you me, I have the ability to manage the wealth of this nation. I say this because I am a born economist and manager of resources Just hire me and let me work for you.

THE MOST PRESSING PROBLEMS OF NIGERIA

The problems of Nigeria are linked up. The major problem of Nigeria is mismanagement of the natural resources. This gave rise to the problem of the economy we have at hand today. The problem or economy gave birth to unemployment, insecurity, lack of social and basic amenities and the rest.

Aside all these, there is a problem of religion and ethnic diversity. This is one of the problems eating us up in Nigeria. The two recognized religions in Nigeria are Christian and Islamic religions. Because the belief system of these two religions are different, citizens do not agree on many things.
Also, the many ethnic groups in Nigeria is a major problem. We have about 250 ethnic groups with sub dialects and this affect the peace and harmonious coexistence of citizens.

Having stated the problems, let me state the way I would go about solving them.

The major source of income for Nigeria before the discovery of oil in the Niger Delta was AGRICULTURE but because Oil was more lucrative, agriculture was left for the poor or peasant farmers. Aside oil and agriculture, there are other natural resources that the country has, enough to build back the economy.

If I am given the mandate to lead Nigeria, I shall bring back large scale production of agricultural products and make it stand side by side with the exploration of Oil which is more financed. Production of all crops that can be grown in the country will be planted for consumption and exportation.

The facility needed for the mining and refining of oil in all parts of the country where oil is exploited will be built to make massive mining of oil possible and remove the enormous amount the country pays for other countries for the refining of the crude oil. Every other natural resources will be properly mined and refined to generate revenues for the country.

When a this is achieved, the economy of the country will be boosted. Employment opportunities will be created for the jobless youths and young adults. When the majority of the population is employed, every security issue will be solved and this will solve every other problem that has risen from the bad economic situation that has been.

Also, for the issue of religion, I would appoint two vice president, one from the North and another from the South. The one for north will be a muslim while that of the south will be a Christian. This is because the population of Muslim is seen higher in the North and the population of Christians is seen more in the North. The two will stand as my representatives in the two parts of the country. This will solve the issue of bias in the presidency.

For the problem of ethnic diversity, I will zone every ethnic group under the three major ethnic group that are recognized in the country. They can speak their dialects but they can only be seen as either Hausa, Igbo or Yoruba. Every tribe which was not originally the tribe under which it was zoned would be encouraged to learn the language for peaceful coexistence.

The Innovations I am Bringing

Even though I have mentioned some of the innovations, I would love to mention this specifically.

One of the major innovation of my administration will be state Police. I will eliminate federal Police system. Every state of the country will be giving the charge to handle the police unit as it concerns security. This will give room for further employment and bringing security closer to the people.

Also because the education of a country is very important, and as a result of the many problems we have faced in the education sector, a body will be created to handle the education of the country. The education of the country will no longer be a political affair but the body in charge will be saddled with the responsibility of carrying out the necessary things to make our education sector a talk of other countries of the world.

In conclusion, my Manifesto is just a summary of my vision for this country. I shall not be able to exhaust all I have in mind to do for the country. Nevertheless, If I am given the mandate by you all, good citizens of this great country, I shall by the grace of which God has given me serve you and lead this country to highest height in all aspect.
