This time Steem4Nigeria admin @Steem4Nigeria has chosen a very interesting and challenging topic "Steemit Engagement Challenge (SEC) | S12W3- "Security Matters".

And I believe that this topic will reflect the economic, political, social, and strategic situation of any country.

That is why I am putting my point of view in this, and at the same time I am inviting my following steemit friends and acquaintances to participate in this competition.@pelon53 ,@yoelmo26 and @gabylazarde

• In your own words what do you understand by the word security

In my words, security means that experience which makes the citizens of any country feel safe in their country. This security is of their life, their wealth, their properties, their social status, their mentality, and their personal freedom.

If the government of a country gives full assurance to its citizens to live their lives freely, to keep their wealth and properties safe and lives up to the promises made, then that government comes in the category of successful governments.

• In your country, in what ways has the government been able to keep the citizens safe?

I am proud that I am a citizen of India, at present the government of my country is fully capable of providing our complete security. Our country is the country with the largest population and widest land area in the world.

Currently there is a population of 1.4 billion, who live in the land areas bordering different countries. The government of our country has made extensive arrangements for our security, for this there is a network of local police forces for internal security in our country, and abundant military forces, air force, and water force are available for external security.

All these armies are well trained and equipped with modern weapons. Apart from this, Border Security Force, Industrial Security Squad, Anti Terrorist Squad, National Intelligence, National Investigation Agencies, CBI, Foreign Surveillance System RAW, Local Surveillance System LIU, Road Security Squad, Airport Security Squad, and many more military/paramilitary forces. It promises complete security to the citizens of our country.

All these armies protect the citizens of our country and protect their interests by risking their lives 24/7 throughout the year. We feel completely safe.

• Personally, what do you do for yourself or your family to be safe in your town or country?

Despite the above mentioned police administration and presence of armies, we do not have to do much for our own safety and the safety of our families.

Yes, it is true that we try to be completely careful for the complete safety of our family. Because there is a saying that “if caution is ignored, an accident occurs”. Therefore, we have installed CCTV cameras in our homes to tighten security.

Because despite such strict arrangements, there are some anti-social elements in every country, whose work is only to earn money by theft, dacoity, plunder, dishonesty, extortion, and such people {who are negligible in our country at present To avoid this, we lock our houses. And we avoid such situations which put the safety of our family in danger.

• Have you experienced or heard of any case of insecurity (robbery or kidnap)? What happened?

No, at present I have never had any feeling of being unsafe, of any theft, kidnapping or of any possibility of a robbery. But yes, I have no hesitation in admitting that incidents of theft and robbery still take place in some of our remote rural areas, in which local politics and rivalries are often involved.

Only one theft incident happened to me 35 years ago in which it was my own fault. I had built a house in a new colony which was situated in a very isolated place.

One day I was in my office and my wife had gone to the market to get some household items, then some thieves broke the door of the house from behind.

Some cash, some gold items and some electronic items were stolen. But till then our police was not very well organized and I too had not made complete security arrangements at my house.

• What do you think is the best way to keep a home secure?

In my own opinion, if your house is situated at a place where there is variable and open environment, then we should cover our house completely.

There should not be any weak point through which any unwanted person can enter. Before sleeping at night, one should check all the doors properly.

Main doors should be locked for security. You should not keep your most valuable items at home; they should be kept in a secure bank locker. Iron gates should be installed on the main doors instead of wooden ones.

And CCTV cameras should be installed at the main door. You should be careful about the safety of your family and friends.

No unknown person should be allowed to enter the house until his identity is certified. The identity cards of service providers like gas meter readers, AC mechanics, electrical repairers, cleaning service providers, courier service providers, etc. should be checked properly before calling them inside.
