SEC15 WK1: "Life on Social Media"

On a personal note, I don't particularly advocate for constantly sharing my day-to-day experiences on social media. I prefer maintaining a certain level of privacy, choosing to share occasional updates, perhaps once every three or four months. While I acknowledge that for some , sharing their daily activities on social media is a means to gain popularity and potentially make a livelihood , I am of the opinion that excessively publicizing everything can have adverse effects on our daily lives.

I have observed cases where individuals have successfully built their professions by showcasing their lives on social media. Women, in particular, have become influencers, makeup artists, creative home decorators, and bloggers by consistently sharing their lifestyles and daily experiences. It's evident that for some, this approach has opened up opportunities and provided a platform for learning and growth.

However, not everything showcased on social media is true. It's a space where individuals curate and share the aspects of their lives that they want others to see. Flaws and challenges are often omitted, and the content tends to focus on positive moments, good memories, and achievements. There's an element of showoff and a desire for attention, views, and likes.

When it comes to the safety of personal information on social media, it's important to acknowledge that no social media network is entirely secure due to various security issues. However, in my experience, I feel relatively safe on Steemit compared to other platforms. On Steemit, I share my daily blogs through writings and occasionally share personal moments with familiar communities. The structure of Steemit differs from traditional platforms like Facebook or Instagram, and the community tends to be more closely knit. While there are risks, such as the potential theft of earned Steem, these can be mitigated by securing our keys carefully.
