A beautiful morning to everyone in this great community known as STEEM4NIGERIA How is everyone doing, it's been a while. I am here to talk about an interesting topic that has been ringing in my mind for long and it is a topic I would love it, if we are share our opinion on this one. I have titled my publication today as is trust a big deal. so why not we all pause for few minutes and then talked about this interesting topic a bit.

The whole idea of this conversation is to tell us all how the word trust as little as it is, it is seen everywhere. all processes of life has trust in it, from the family level down to the friendship level and so on. so the word although a four letter word, it has the power to build and destroy lives. why not we see what trust entails.

Trust is seen as the ability in which confidentiality and reliability is displayed. it can also been seen as an obligation of an individual to whom a thing is confided. trust is a very strong word that is hardly is hardly given and hence when it is been given to an individual, it is expected that the individual stay true and maintain the trust given to him or her. the word trust is hard to come by, it is not just a normal word that every say all the time.

Before one can be trusted then that person must have shown high level of commitment and reliability, it takes time and effort to build trust. to many people it took them years to build the trust most people have in them, so in as much as the word trust is comprised of just four letters, it should not be underestimated because without trust you can not be with certain people and not just that, without trust there are things you can never reach to.

A lot of people have been discarded, cut off from their families, loved ones, colleagues, place of work and friends because of trust issues. we have seen broken homes countless times and when a statistic is been done, you will realized that trust issues carry the majority. trust is the reason why various people are being given portfolios in different organization. trust is also seen even on the steemit platform, as an MOD you are being entrusted with the power to foresee the activities of the community.

So trust is versatile, and hence it is necessary to protect that it when given to you because it is something that is not easily given and hence when you have it from other person, it is needed of you that you stay true and make sure you do not break it.

Now this is the key point of the whole subject. to me, trust is not expected to be a big deal and hence it should be given with ease and without hesitation but currently it is now. many people have misused this word trust. it is so pathetic and hurts a lot when someone entrust you with certain things and yet you break the trust. okay, let us not go that far to make certain illustration but let us just take a single example to justify the statement.

I have seen cases at my work place, my boss entrusted a colleague of mine with his house key and this was because they have stayed for years and he feels it was time to give him that open check to his house. my boss do send him on errands to get things at his house whenever he is busy at the shop. but do you know that each time my boss asked him to go get something from his house, my colleague always goes to my boss's safe box to remove large amount of money.

This kept happening and as a result of that incident, it brought conflict between my boss and his wife because the scenario kept happening. so one day my colleague never knew my boss has gotten a cctv camera that captures everything in the house. so purposefully, my boss asked him again to go get something at his house and this guy went straight to my boss's safe to take #90,000 thousand naira.

When my boss got home and found out from his camera what has happened it was then he noticed that it was my colleague that has been taking his money and causing conflict between his wife and him. so the next day he was taken away from work by the police men and was dealt with so well. his family was asked to pay all the money my colleague has stole before he will be released.

So after that incident, my boss never trusted anyone again not even me because of this one act done by my colleague. now as you can see, it has affected us too. in fact the trust issue grew worse that he closes his shop and keep us outside until he comes back, so that we do not take something from the shop. now can you image the intensity of the act, for the trust has been taken away and he does not trust anyone no more.

We should be very careful in anything we do because whatsoever we do today, will determine our tomorrow. trust issues can be transferred to innocent persons that are wiling to protect that trust but the problem is how can you fix what has been broken for it is so hard to bring a broken plate back to it original form. many people are suffering not because they are not doing their jobs so well but because other people have already broken the heart that releases the trust and that is why no matter what we do, it always looks as if we are not doing anything.

Trust is now a big deal, and before one can be trusted it takes a lot of time, so when you are been entrusted with portfolios, please it is expected of you to carry your work so perfectly because when you lose that trust, it does not just affect you, but it also affect others in the association as the case may be because when you lose the trust, you may not get a second chance to gain it back and the worst of all, it will affect others in that same circle.

Unless will learn to cultivate trust again, give benefit of doubt, we will keep living in a distrust society and no one will get to believe each other no more. we should learn to love and forgive no matter how hard if feels, learn to let go of the pain in other to make the world a better place at least for the young generation coming.
