Steemit Engagement Challenge (SEC)| S12W5- "My Skill Takes Me Up"

Skills are generally overemphasized in the world we live in today. Many survive by taking up skills to cater for their needs and care for families as the level of unemployment is high. It's with great enthusiasm I'm writing in this contest because it's based on needed values in today's life. The rate of unemployment and poverty keeps increasing everyday and if skills are not considered, it may increase even twice as it is today. What's my take on skills? This post explains better as I will be sharing my little knowledge on the theme "Skill" in this post.

Well just as the question said, in my opinion I think skill is simply an ability to do something in the right way or an ability to add positive values to society. Skill can be any special technique or ability which is acquired through training. Skills today are what makes the society work because they serve as means of employment especially in areas where there is a high rate of unemployment.

I am a Nigerian, a country where there is a high rate of poverty and unemployment. Skills are highly needed because there are millions of youths in Nigeria who are graduates in various fields of study and are also jobless. It is advised that an average Nigerian youth who is also a Nigerian student should get his/her acquainted with one skill or the other if not multiple skills because there is no guarantee that they will get employed when they eventually become graduates.

Skills are needed for daily survival in Nigeria because many families feed directly from their daily earnings. With Nigerian youths getting themselves involved in different kinds of skills I believe we can reduce the rate of poverty and unemployment.

Above are some of the resourceful and valuable skills you can learn in Nigeria to be self employed.

There are numerous skills I wish to learn because every skill is worth learning. Being specific I would say Data Analysis, Content Creation and Project Management, these are the three skills I want to be perfect with in the nearest future. I want to learn them not just for financial stability but because I love writing, meeting new people, working as a team and surfing the internet as well and I believe with these skills I would be able to do these things with ease.

In conclusion, skills are highly needed in today's life especially digital ones because as technology keeps getting wider the world is is becoming digital gradually and every skill is worth learning as far as it yields you something to keep you on the track.
