Hello everyone, you are all welcome to my post. I will be participating in the engagement challenge titled "My past mistakes, which I would like to correct if time were revisable." Thanks to @josepha for creating this contest.

WHAT I UNDERSTAND BY THE WORD MISTAKE

The word mistake is a very common word that so many people use.
A mistake in my understanding means one failing to do what he/she is supposed to do or doing what he/she is not supposed to do that eventually causes ma regrets at last.

I believe that a mistake is said to be a mistake only when it leads to regret. Regret is the major thing in mistake. If it doesn’t lead to regret, that means it’s not a mistake.

THE MISTAKE I MADE THAT I WISH TO CORRECT IF TIME WERE REVERSABLE

One of the mistakes I made in my life is neglecting crypto the first time I heard of it. In 2012 when Bitcoin was around $11, A friend of mine told me about it but it was sounding so strange to me. I did not even pay attention to him. He bought Bitcoin worth $50 and was trying his best to convince me to buy any amount at all but I felt he was trying to lure me into a scam because it was all sounding strange to me.

His family later relocated to another state in Nigeria (rivers state), and I lost contact so I never heard from him again after some years. Then, the next time I heard about Bitcoin again was in 2019. Guess what, its price was over $7000. I was in great shock.

So I started making inquiries about it. That was when I started doing research and asking questions concerning it and I found out all that my friend told me about it was true, I made a very great mistake by not listening to that my friend. I felt so bad that it made me very depressed for several months. I couldn’t even cry because what I was feeling was more painful than tears.
I wished I could take back time and reverse this mistake.

WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF THE MISTAKE?

I was just being so careful not to be involved in something that will make me lose my money. I wasn’t even interested at all. My mind wasn’t open to new things. If I just calmed down and listened to my friend, I would see some sense in what he is saying. My other friends even condemned the idea too. So I just followed them to condemn it.

THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE MISTAKE IN MY PRESENT LIFE

I believe we all know what it means to miss out on Bitcoin when it was around $12.
This mistake has created a very huge scar in me that whenever I hear anything about Bitcoin, it will change my mood. If I had bought even $10 worth of Bitcoin as of then, I can imagine the profits I would have made today.

THE LESSON I HAVE LEARNT FROM THE MISTAKE

This mistake has taught me a very great lesson. It has taught me that whenever I hear or someone tells me about something new and strange to me, I have to do very proper research on it before concluding if it’s legit or fake.

If I had listened to my friend and at least researched it earlier enough, I wouldn’t have made such a mistake.

ADVISE TO OTHERS SO THEY CAN AVOID MAKING THE SAME MISTAKE IN THEIR OWN LIFE

I believe some people out there made the same mistake I made. My advice is very simple, “ Never neglect any information, do proper research first”.

Sometimes, information can be a scam but don’t just conclude it’s a scam, let your research tell if it’s a scam or not.

CONCLUSION

Nobody is above mistakes, we all make mistakes in life. But the most important thing is that we have to always learn from our mistakes.
I will like to invite @preye2, @cryptobitcoins, @simonnwigwe, @nadiaturrina, and @pathanapsana to participate in this contest.

Thanks for reading 🙂

We all make mistakes, A person who doesn't make a mistake is not a human. We have to learn from our mistakes and have to correct it in future and aim not to repeat them again.

Thanks for invitation. I will participate as I get time.
