Greetings Everyone, This is SHOHANA From #Bangladesh

Bengali language is my mother tongue and this language is the mother tongue of my country. It has different forms such as people from different regions pronounce Bengali in different ways which become regional languages but all the forms are Bengali language or Bangla.

We known as Bengali nation for speaking this language and our country also named on this language and its Bangladesh. So the language is very dearest to us and it has unforgettable history too that the people of this world should know. February 21st February as International Mother Language Day belongs to us and the history of it really very touching.

Once our young leaders sacrifice their lives in 1952 when our language was going to replaced with some other language but our young boys at that time protest on it and sacrifice their lives because police shoot out them randomly in a procession. Later the government declare this language as the only language of our country Bangladesh. You can find the history by visiting this : Bengali language movement

What is the name of your country? How many languages can be found in your country?

The name of my country is Bangladesh and it named on our language Bangla or better known as Bengali. We have only one language and its Bangla but English is our second language that we learn and use for professional purpose. Our personal and native language is Bangla but there are many tribe in my country speak different languages that belongs to them only as their mother tongue.

Among the listed languages in your country, how many are you familiar with?

As I mention that we have only one language and its Bengali so we don't have a big list of language to learn. It is actually easy for us because learning more languages is not easy for me but its good to learn more languages to communicate more people all around the world. Bangla language is enough for us to communicate with native people. Actually our neighbor country has huge languages so beside our own languages we are familiar with different languages but we don't speak them but understand them a little bit.

How has this language improved/helped your life and business?

Actually one language is not enough when you have foreign clients to communicate so we prefer learning English and it is already an International language. We have many more language learning schools in our cities and there are many people learn them for business and service purpose.

Our schools and colleges added English as a subject that we can learn it and can communicate with foreigners when they come to visit our country. English is not the only language that people learn here for working purpose, people also learn Korean, German, French, Spanish and many more other foreign languages.

Are you willing to teach your children these languages? Yes/No. State your reason.

Will definitely we should teach multiple languages to our children because they will be able to connect more foreign clients in their working field. This is good to acknowledge more about a new language and it should be encouraged not only the kids but also all the people who wants to learn new language for working purpose.

Personally I only practice English as foreign language because learning a new language sounds difficult to me and I can't afford the time for it. Learning new languages are definitely a fun for kids as they have enough time to learn it and they can focus more if they start practicing since the beginning.

Your heartfelt tribute to the Bengali language and its significance in your country is truly moving. The historical context you shared, especially the sacrifices made by young leaders in 1952 to preserve the Bengali language, adds depth and emotion to the narrative.
It's inspiring to see how language can be a powerful symbol of identity and unity.
