Courtesy means that showing respect, empathy, and humanity to others. You should polite and elegant in speech, behavior, and practicality. Suppose you are listening attentively to someone while they are talking is a part of courtesy. Courtesy is not just is social etiquette. It is an indicator of a person's politeness and character.

Yes, I think politeness is very important in our life. It helps us for building a healthy and better society. Politeness gives us peace of mind. It makes a strengthens of mutual relationships. Everyone should practice politeness because through it we respect others and protect our own dignity.

Name five instances where courtesy is demanded in your culture.

Source

In Bangladeshi culture, courtesy is observed in the following five cases:

  1. Greeting elders – a symbol of respect and honor.

  2. Entertaining guests when they arrive – belief in the “guest is a god” concept.

  3. Inviting them to a wedding – social courtesy.

  4. Inquiring about the family and expressing sympathy when someone dies.

  5. Letting someone go first or helping someone on the street – civic courtesy.

State instances where courtesy was neglected. Maybe you witnessed it or someone told you.

Some incidents i have faced that

  • Once, while boarding a bus, I saw an elderly person standing but no one gave up their seat. This was a kind of neglect of courtesy.

  • A student was asking a question in class, while others were talking – this was also discourteous behavior.

  • Abusing on social media, making disrespectful comments about someone’s opinion – these reflect the general lack of courtesy today.

What is your stance when it comes to courtesy? Tell us.

I always declared that the courtesy to be a moral and social responsibility. In my daily life i always try to practice courtesy. I practice like that listening attentively to everyone, being polite to everyone, and reaching out to help someone. I trust that every small acts of courtesy make our society more humane and beautiful.

Thanks to my dear steemian friends Who read my post.
