Briefly explain Transparency to a layman's understanding |

Transparency is said to be the act of being seen for who you are without fear or favour. It is an act of being seen through without secrets or guilt. i.e. the act of being open, sincere and truthful, not hiding behind lies.
This is likened to family sharing everything among themselves living in trust and love without secrets or guilt of been seen for who you are.
What is your opinion on being transparent in a marriage or a relationship? |

People understand transparency in marriage or relationship to be as neither spouse having no secrets, or knowing everything about his/her spouse’s life. But, I would love everyone to see transparency in a marriage as being comfortable, honest and forthcoming with the other spouse where there is no guilt, shame, lying, or concealment.
Transparency in marriage doesn’t necessarily mean giving up your personal space or having your private life rather it means having those moments and allowing your spouse to have them, without fearing that something disgraceful happening. I.e Having total trust in your partner, hence fostering Intimacy, confidence and low conflicts in a relationship. Therefore, I encourage everyone in a relationship to be transparent with their partner.
In the case whereby one party finds out the other person's hidden secret, what do you think should be done? |

This is indeed a hard pill to take knowing someone you have planned to live with for the rest of your life certain things away, but also we all have to recall not secrets can be bad as some are kept internationally not to hurt their partner, it could even be something that happened before getting to know each other. Therefore, the best thing to do is to communicate with the party involved in a comfortable tune, and not shout at the top of your voice.
Indeed, if a secret is made open, those who tend to hide it would feel guilty, ashamed and untrustworthy about the very things transparency is against. But then, things can be handled amicably without remorse or violence. If the grieved feel the secret is too much to bear, it is then they agree to the next phase of action, but all this can be achieved without violence.

I don't think there is anyone among us that is yet to experience this at any point in life be it in society, career, business, friendship or relationship.
I have therefore experienced indeed intransparency in virtually all categories mentioned above. As a young man coming up to speed on things in life, people have lied and kept things secret from my knowledge.
My latest came in a case of business, I had put up a business with a friend to retail clothing and shoes, to which we contributed our shares of the investment capital, but after a while, I found things weren't always as he would tell me in the share of the profits and the running of the business. For peace to reign, I confronted him and we amicably agreed to part ways and that was it.
Can truth be hidden forever? |

Truth is not an artefact that can be hidden for eternity no matter how big or small it may be. One can conceal the truth, but can never conceal it permanently, it requires the act of either not choosing to talk about it, or telling lies to conceal the truth. The funny thing about telling lies is you would require 20 more to cover up for one. Hence, the truth will always reveal itself as you will run out of lies at some point and that is why I will encourage everyone to be transparent in every aspect of their life.

Indeed it was really a very big experience received and needed. It thought me a thing or two. Have you had such situation before? How did you handle it?
I never had before. But if that happened to me, maybe i'll go away. Im not sure can handle it hehehe

I would like to find out, can someone who is accurately described as a closed book have transparancy in their marriage? Do I have to tell my spouse that I want to buy her a new shoe as a surprise just to make sure I am transparent?

Transparency like I stated is not always about having no secrets, rather the felling of guilty. It is been free with and around your spouse, so then to your question
Remember also, I said earlier secrets could be good or bad to keep your spouse out of harms way. Thus, this is a good secret as it will make your spouse happy and you wouldn't feel guilt doing it. Unless its your spouse's money you took to buy the gift. Lol 😆
