In peaceful small town of Abasi lived a childless couple.

Abasi was a town located in the western part of Nigeria, across the Niger bridge. Abasi known for its rich agricultural profits. I guess because her citizens were hardworking farmers.

The childless couple was a nickname given to Afam and his wife Nnena. They have lived together for 15years without having children, not even a miscarriage.

---

This couple was popular because Afam was also one of the hardworking farmers. And most of the time, his wife Nnena goes with him to the farm because she is usually bored staying alone at home.

---

Almost every one in the town of Abasi made jest of Afam and Nnena, hence the nick name The childless couple. Afam kept loving his wife, believing that one day she would conceive and bear a child.

---

Most times, whenever Nnena visits the market in other to get some food stuff that she could not plant on her farm, the market women mocked her and called her all sorts of names. She would cry home to her husband and he would console her, encouraging her not to give up hope.

One beautiful sunny afternoon, the childless couple went to their farm land to harvest some of their crops like maize and cassava. Nnena got tired and sat on a big stone. As soon as she sat on it, she heard a tiny voice speaking from the big stone. The voice kept saying Mrs why are you seating on me?

For a moment she was afraid, she jumped up and called the attention of her husband. Afam quickly rushed to her asking why she called. She narrated what happened and Afam decided to seat on the stone to see what would happen.

---

As he sat on the stone, the same voice spoke to him but this time the voice said please release me from this stone. Afam was not scared, he stood up and decided to do what the voice said.

The childless couple, carried the stone up and broke it and a golden smaller stone fell off. The voice spoke again but this time, the voice said Take me to your house, I can be your child

Afam for a moment became confused, he stood trying to decide with his wife if they should do as the voice said. After so much time spent, the childless couple took the golden stone home.

---

When they got home, they threw the stone up and when it fell to the ground, it turned into a little baby boy. So much Joy filled their hearts as Nnena took the child and lay on her bed.

---

The next day as they both woke up from sleep, they noticed that every thing about them has changed, their house became new, furnished with gold. Their wardrobe was also changed.

---

The people of Abasi marveled at the great transformation that took place in the life of the childless couple. And from that moment on, they were never called the childless couple anymore.
