Hello friends!!

How time flies, already in week 5, just like yesterday we began the season

Give us a brief introduction about your country

The name Of my country is Nigeria. Nigeria is a country located in the western region in the continent of Africa.

Nigeria is country comprising of 36 states, having the city of Abuja as her capital city.

Nigeria is also blessed with different cultures and tradition having many languages but the 3 major language spoken in Nigeria are Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba. English is spoken in Nigeria because Nigeria was colonized by the British.

Nigeria is a blessed with fertile soil good for agriculture production. Major occupation of Nigerian are buying and selling, agriculture and other things. I love Nigeria because of the absence on many natural disasters.

What is/are the mineral resources your country is blessed with

Nigeria is so blessed and one of areas for which it is blessed is the presence of mineral resources.

cave-1839298_1280.jpgsource

Nigeria is blessed with more than 50 mineral resources such as crude oil, coal, limestone, tin, lead, zinc, Gold, marble and many more. Guess what? Almost in all the states you can find one or more mineral resources.

For instance in the state called Bayelsa you can find limestone, lignite. While in Abia you can find Gold, lead and zinc. In Enugu you can find coal, lead. In Adamawa, you can find bentonite, kaolin, magnesite. Bauchi you can find iron-ore. The list goes on and on.

Has these mineral resources been fully harnessed

In my opinion, I do not think our country's mineral resources has been fully harnessed. Except for coal, which has been used to produce other things like petroleum, diesel, kerosene and other things.

And limestone has not been harnessed so well even though it has been used to produce cement for building of houses and coal tars for construction of road.

Other minerals such as Gold, zinc, lead, lignite and others has not been harnessed in my own view point.

My country still has a long way to go in the aspect of harnessing our mineral resources. I wonder why the only focus has been on coal yet we still import fuel.

Has the proceeds from these resources been used properly by your government for the welfare of her citizens...support your answer (Yes/No) with good points

Now this question got me really laughing. My country for a long time has been suffering bad governance. And you know what bad governance can do to a country.

No,the proceeds of these resources has not been used properly for the welfare of the people. The government only share the money amongst themselves enjoying the benefits with their families alone.

The government don't care about the people neither do they care about their welfare. No good hospitals or schools. Electricity is not even constant. Accidents on the roads because the roads are bad.

The government are after themselves alone, getting richer everyday from the proceeds of these resources, while most citizens can't afford to eat a meal daily. Corruption has eaten deep into the government.

Let me invite my friends to join this contest. @lhorgic @sahmie @hisgeneral

Greetings friend.

It is very pleasant to read about a nation as prodigious by its nature as Nigeria, made up of 36 states and has three valuable languages that allow fluidity in communication and relationships between its people. The minerals are diverse and its oil, coal and others of great value stand out, which require greater use for the benefit of the entire population. Actually, I know Nigeria as the African giant and I believe that due to the riches of its mineral resources, it has a well-deserved name within the African continent.

I congratulate you for your country, which, like mine, is an oil producer, but which has not been well used for the well-being of its population.

Success in the challenge and greatly value the mineral advantages that your country has.

Hello @ruthjoe, thank u for sharing about Nigeria. What a great nation..
Nigeria truly boasts a rich tapestry of cultures and traditions, with a multitude of languages spoken, though Igbo, Hausa, and Yoruba stand out as the primary ones. The historical influence of British colonization is evident in the prevalence of English as a widely spoken language. Additionally, Nigeria's fertile soil supports thriving agricultural endeavors, with occupations ranging from commerce to farming. Its relative immunity to natural disasters is indeed a blessing, contributing to its appeal as a land of opportunity and resilience.
Great post mate, best wishes for u 👍

Nigeria, a diverse nation with abundant mineral resources, faces challenges in harnessing them fully. Despite having various minerals like crude oil, coal, and gold the utilization is limited. Unfortunately the proceeds are often mismanaged benefiting a few in power. Basic needs like education and healthcare are neglected reflecting poor governance. #Nigeria #MineralResources

Bad governance can really mess things up for a country. And unfortunately Nigeria is a perfect example, it's true that the proceeds from our natural resources haven't been used properly for the welfare of the people. The government care only about themselves and their own families, while the rest of us are left behind. It's really frustrating and unfair. We deserve leaders who prioritize the well-being of the people and use those resources to make our lives better. Hopefully, things will change for the better soon, and we'll see the benefits of our country's resources being used for the greater good.
